Ursuline's Homecoming weekend and all of the associated activities took place on the weekend of November 11-14.
A crew laid out, masked and painted these flames over a weekend. The car was rolled out Sunday evening and headed for Wilmington's cruise strip, Avalon Blvd. Then general consensus among those who viewed it that night was that the spray can painters had been "loaded". In the sixties flames had fallen out of favor and the public wasn't ready for something this radical. In other words, the car was ahead of it's time because "Old School" was still a few years away. Nevertheless, it was an interesting and enjoyable exercise at the time. Thanks to Allen Duke for offering up his car!

Why can I not stop myself from making impulse buys from Cheap Shops ? I HAD to buy this long smock-like tee shirt which doesn't really do much for me anyway & knowing that if I dare to put it in the washing machine, it will come out looking like an old rag. I'm just buying more landfill.
And who, besides tiny children & maybe Twiggy, ever looked good in a smock? It's such a bad look.
The skirt is a favourite thrifted item from The Wayside Chapel Shoppe.
And that's another thing: the weather. I've noticed other wardrobe remixers mentioning unseasonally warm weather in their Northern World, but down under is supposed to be hot & steamy in February. It's not, it's cold. Last night I wore ski sox to bed. Never in my lifetime has it been like this at this time of the year. That's why I'm wearing footless tights & shoes. Slightly unsettling.
