Just returned from a Short Weekend Break ( Friday to Sunday) based in Harrogate with Karen, Zoe and Kate. On Saturday we went to Leeds and here we are having Morning Coffee in the Arcade at what used to be Harvey Nicks. Now a franchise called "The rabbit Hole.'
A very pleasant coffee with good company. We were fortunate with the weather getting it dry while we were in Leeds.
Non-HDR shot of our Vantech Zil520 RV taken alongside the rice paddies in Higashikawa.
Life is *so* much better on the weekends now inside our little RV. Not only do we have more fun doing things away from the city, but we *sleep* better as the beds are more comfortable and *larger* than the ones at home!
The *biggest* advantage of vacationing in an RV versus the normal rent-car-stay-in-hotel, is that we don't have to pre-plan our trip in advance. All we need to know is the general direction of where we want to go, as we have no idea what we're gonna do and where we're gonna stay until about 30min before hand! Makes every day a happy adventure!
Hokkaido, Japan.

I don't feel like going anywhere.
Because this is my home.
I can do what I want.
When I want, with no one saying no.
Let me lose track of days.
Let me sleep in.
Let me be me.
Just these two days.
Until work begins again.
To bring the stress back my way.

If there's one event you must always consider going to then it has to be the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust's Annual Open Weekend in October. It's an extremely well run and family friendly event with around 180 vehicles to see and enjoy. There are two frequent bus routes to sample the buses plus six themed tours involving up to five vehicles on each. The event is very popular with enthusiasts from far and wide attracting many, like myself, from the south of England!
Anyway, here's a selection of my photos from the weekend, including a few I snapped on the Friday before the event. Well done team GVVT, your sterling efforts are appreciated by many!
Sitting on a bench in the front yard of Drayton Hall watching the Ashley River drift by....
Enjoy your weekend my Flickr friends, this is the last of part one of the Drayton Hall series, the next one will have a wide angle perspective, and will open up a totally new world for y'all..
Friday evening was a celebration of the 25th year of this event being held at Rotherham. I only started going in 2013 but that was an eventful weekend for me.
I had been in correspondence through Flickr with Karen Martin who suggested that I should attend. So in November 2013 I attended for the first time and it was the first occasion that I met up with Karen.
It was the first of many meetings that we have enjoyed since then becoming good friends. Karen has been a wonderful support and provided much encouragement since then. We are fortunate that we share similar views on our femme lives and especially being able to get out and about.
We're lacking a bit of snow in the Alaska Range. It's still a beautiful place to be even if there was no skiing or snowshoeing to do over the weekend. Had a nice hike in the mountains.
