Just chillin.

On our last weekend in the country some friends came to hang out with us. I just happened to have the 70-300 mm on the camera and grabbed a bunch of portraits.

Howarth 1940's Weekend

Finally! Man, I Need to study... work and volunteering this entire week has been tiring. Maybe more so because I'm still recovering from being a bit sick.

Once again, this is another shot that I took on the way home from work. This intersection is one of the places where I hope to find myself around often next school year... We'll see.

In other news: This is my -100th- image posted! Wow... Part of me feels like "Only 100? I've Definitely shot WAY more than 100 images on film... and only 100 have been "worthy" of posting?" And yet another part thinks "Only 100? I hope to shoot More... and better!" ^_^

--I've started to take note of my aperture settings! This is mostly for my own reference. I've realized that if I'm going to take learning photography seriously I should take notes while I shoot. Namely my f-stop, exposure settings if I'm compensating and eventually shutter speeds as well. (My Pentax MV1 is an aperture priority camera, so shutter speed won't be an issue yet)

This weekend, workers replaced components at 161 St-Yankee Stadium on the B/D Line. This photo shows bunting used to mark limits of the work area. Photo by Metropolitan Transportation Authority / Leonard Wiggins.

Across the soaring bridge from downtown San Diego is Coronado, a relaxed Southern California beach town, boasting one of the world's best beaches, endless sunshine, and a bayside overlooking San Diego's skyline.

Coronado hosts visitors with world-class resorts, an 18-hole golf course bordering the bay, spas, art galleries and yacht marinas.

Coronado is home to the Hotel del Coronado, the Victorian beach-front masterpiece that is a national treasure. Coronado celebrates its rich cultural heritage.

Coronado's mile-long main street is a pedestrian's paradise, and its tree-lined neighborhoods are an explorer's delight. Named one of the Dozen Distinctive Destinations and given the Great American MainStreet Award, Coronado's setting invites distinctive boutiques, parades and picnics in the park.

Coronado's enchanting surroundings and its convenience to the attractions of San Diego make for a perfect Southern California vacation, whether family holiday, fairy tale wedding, or a season in the sun.

This weekend I have read about Tutankhamon and thought a lot about ancient Egypt. We have few toys regarding Pharaohs and Mummies, this one being one of them, painted tin figure.

This diorama is inspired by the Ligurian Riviera where I occasionally spend the weekend. This creation is an extension of a moc made in spring 2017. The main reason for this change came from the idea of making a summer display in a shop window in my village. The first version consisted of 4 bases, so I wanted to add two more bases to give the diorama more dimension and in the future I decided that I will also make a lighthouse to complete the marine theme. From this derives the name of the restaurant "Al Faro" which is the new building on the right.

The diorama does not incorporate particular techniques, I deliberately decided to make it simple but at the same time fun and full of cartoons with various characters who carry out the life of the sea, such as playing on the beach, having an ice cream, taking a relaxing walk on the seafront, etc. ..

All the buildings, even if small, have internal fittings visible from the back. This moc makes me want to go to the sea and go out to enjoy some healthy relaxation after all the long lockdown brought about by Covid-19.

I hope you enjoy the diorama!

made the same day I received the book...gosh I look tired! A day with a 2 year old and 8 month twins does that to you. Anyway love the pattern and actually like the little pleat I had to make in it when doing the front. I also made a little boo boo making wide bias tape but it all turned out fine!!! Hoping to make another one over the easter weekend!

Whitby Goth Weekend April 2018

From Heather Ross's Weekend Sewing. I agree with other reviews- this dress is huge. I am going to try to shorten the bodice from the shoulder seams.

Other than the size, this pattern was really nice. From cutting to the finished dress was about 2.5 hours. I used a cotton jersey fabric. For the elastic thread, I used the longest stitch and held the iron close to the seam (not directly on it) and steamed, which worked really well.

Whitby Goth Weekend November 2025

Whitby Gothic Weekend

We had the house to our selves this rainy weekend, so my wife let me dress for the whole weekend. I got to dress and act the part of a 14 year old girl since Friday evening. While I would never pass as a woman none the less a 14 year old girl, it is a fun fantasy. All the clothes I have come from the girls dept down to the panties and training bras. I ended up sleeping in this on Saturday night. While my wife doesn't mind playing along and even brings home girls clothes for me, she has no idea I have pictures or worse have posted them. So my photo opportunities this weekend were limited. Be sure to check my profile for a link to my other account with more pictures. Thanks for stopping by... Bobbie
