Rectangles and Squares

Hannibal, Missouri

Please pardon this. I have finals that week, and was studying for ten hours a day. It was horrible. But they're done now!

edit

Oh my god, this almost has 50 favorites, thank you so much! It's kinda growing on me, it makes me feel calm looking at it :3

Merci

This is for this week’s 52 weeks for dogs challenge – “dog ‘n chair”.

To make it a bit more challenging, I decided to try a chair that Brady never gets on, which really confused him. I also made the mistake of taking the dogs for a walk before I started, so he was panting up a storm. See below for a few outtakes…including a sample of one I tried outside the day before.

I think the best thing about this photo session was the puzzled looks on the dogs’ faces as I lugged the leather chair to the yard. (And apparently, the red canoe couldn’t resist a cameo.)

A feather from my collection. Not my best effort, but it was a busy week. Will try harder this week.

Second Life: 52 Week Challenge 2025 Not the most exciting picture but joy for me is home, living in the northern part of the Appalachian mountains in the states the mountain and forests makes me happiest.

neither summer nor winter.

neither black nor white.

neither girl nor woman.

somewhere in between.

this week was pretty good, even though I had a history exam and a vocabulary test. and a headache sometimes. but I was in a good mood. not too stressed. and nevertheless there’s always been this bittersweet feeling of time passing so fast.

every second

every minute

every hour

every year

gone by. too fast.

For the Nighttime Long Exposure theme at 52 weeks in 2018.

Well, it rained most of the week and all of the weekend so my plans for an outdoor shot didn't work. Hope this is acceptable.

Explored!

Refraction is such a cool theme and it brings back memories of this group. My first ever Explore was from a refraction theme for this group in 2013 and it’s still my profile pic.

On a trip out today with the wife and happened upon this old abandoned barn on the side of the road near Daventry, Northamptonshire and just had to take a look. I took a few shots but this is one of the favourites and meets week 17's theme in my photo a week challenge.

I love the geometry of the beams and rafters which practically scream triangles, rectangles and probably even parallelograms everywhere. Certainly a testament to the workmanship given this roof is still standing when some of the brick walls have holes you could walk through! And no, I don't mean doors LOL

Shot on a Panasonic G3 converted for infrared photography, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex.

Last week my love and I were on our way to botanical garden. But the traffic was dreadful, and since we couldn’t change the traffic we changed our route: outside the city…up to the mountains. And then down to a lake.

There was a summerish autumn in İstanbul. As we started climbing, the temperature started declining. When we reached the top, there was 15 degrees difference... and chilly yet most refreshing air…reviving us.

Most of the mountain trees had worn their autumn clothes, though some of them were still green. The trees in the city were still green back then.

Things had changed in the last week: the trees of the city started to wear their autumn clothes, too. The weeds and grass got green and greener because of soft rain and sunshine following each other, yet the trees tell me it is autumn!

I am a bit late with this one. Hand held, and practicing panos. I stitched 3 photos in the online I.C.E program. I have a new computer so it has been a test of my brain power to work out how to do everything again as things have changed a great deal in 8 years since I bought my last computer! Taken on our drive to visit a friend recently. I did not quite have the photo flow in line, so the stitching program has cut off more of the pano I would have liked, however, what a great reminder this challenge has been to practice it more often. It is odd how the program also puts in random bits, like a shadow, so you have to be vigilant in scanning the finished photo and adjust accordingly.

What I do every single day of the week, is go for a walk. Walking is healthy, we sit around too much so I walk and I love it.

Early mornings are the best !

Thank you for your views, faves and or comments, they are greatly appreciated !!!

Me at 31 weeks pregnant. Time for new shirts!!

www.carrie.cc/baby

I'm now 29 weeks pregnant.... where has the time gone?

My tummy is expanding more than I ever thought it could... I actually have a baby in there! I sometimes forget how real it is!

I love being pregnant... I reckon I'm going to miss my bump....

Had a pretty good photog day......which always makes me happy. I have so many to look through and so I'm sure I'll be uploading more photos throughout the week.

I took the time today to lay out under the sun...and just enjoy the nature around me. The sky has been SO blue here in the Keys lately. I mean BLUE! It's gorgeous.

A little update on my continuing Anxiety situation. I had another visit with my doc who decided that he would like to try me on Buspar next. Though I'm still apprehensive about it, I will give it a shot. I am also starting counseling this week as well as the woman's bible study from my church. I am so excited about these things and look forward to seeing how this will help me. The funny thing is....I"m already feeling a difference in myself, just making these choices to find help in various avenues.

For the first time in a while....I am looking forward to the future. THough I know that there will be some challenges ahead, I'm really ready to take them as they come.

Plus I have my most awesome flickr friends to help me out when I need it!

xoxoxoxo

much luv!

Week 8 in my 52 week portrait challenge...

Not really what I wanted to do for Long Exposure, but the weather, work and lack of time in general have conspired against me.

Week #44 Long Exposure

HSS!

I started this project exactly half a year ago. I’m sad that the time passed so fast and happy because there’s another 26 weeks left.

in twenty six weeks...

... I will be 20 and it will be okay.

... I will be done with school for good.

... I will be able to not care about what others think.

... I will be content with who I am.

... I will know what I want to achieve.

... I will be happy.

as for last week, I spent my time on studying ethics and french and realizing how bad I really am at maths.

and I noticed how much I love spending my time with the people I got to know at school. I am incredibly happy I changed schools in 10th grade. I had so many problems and I don’t have any of them anymore. I am grateful for the people I have around me and I enjoy random moments with them so much. sometimes I just remember what that change did to me. and I know it was the best decision I have ever made.

Ordinarily, the redbud trees outside our building begin budding the end of March, beginning of April. These began last weekend, but this morning was my first chance to get out and photograph them.
