After the recent craziness of the Utata Big Project - here's something relatively normal along with a blog ponderance on the summer vladography.wordpress.com/2013/09/11/week-26/
Flop-flops as art. The people in this beach house had all these flip-flops nailed to their fence! What does this mean?! Do flip-flops count as shoes?
Thanks everyone! At first I thought these were stray flip-flops, but it looks like they are matching pairs!
The theme this week was diptych or triptych. I decided to go with a beachy theme for this one. I didn't want to make this too pretty, so I added the dead alewives to macabre things up a bit. It was a really nice day to walk over to North Beach. There were only a few people there, so I nearly had the whole beach to myself. It's a great peaceful place to be to get away from my desk and break up the day for a while. I like how I was able to incorporate Port Washington's iconic lighthouse in this one as well.

My mom has many photos similar to this from my sister's and I adventures with the 110 film cameras when we were kids.

Week 2: Self Portrait
Alright so this was shot today, an hour ago. Not the same day as week one despite the simular shirt... it's not even the same shirt I'm just really loyal to what I like, including styles.
I did something here I rarely do... a standard classic portrait.
Shot w/ my Canon t2i and Canon 50mm prime lens. Off camera flash w/ flash bender and flesh tone filter.
Processed in Photoshop with a gradient filter instead of your standard b/w transitions.
Blue tone added for "Detroit B/W" effect as most pre made effects w/ this tone are called that...why? I don't know...
26 years of age / no skin brushes / filters. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Decided to spend some time coloring tonight with my 7 year old, and I brought out my vintage 1979 TOMY Mighty Men and Monster Maker, a rubbing plate set with framed platform for creating unique heroes and monsters. I bought this on eBay this summer, when I decided I wanted to bring some of my lost toys from childhood back into my life. Toys may seem silly, but reclaiming ones lost to unfortunate circumstances and building new memories with my own children has been a beautiful and therapeutic experience.
Visiting a friend last week, I couldn't help but appreciate all the small details around her home. 11/52

Hi,
at fist I had totaly different plans for my week 14 pic. But then, Marie just grabbed my Camera and took a picture of me while I meditated over the final details. She had a lucky shot and managed to catch my good side which is not so easy . So I decided to not bother anymore and take this picture instead.
Read the whole story and see the lighting diagram of the setup at:

I used a 3 strobe setup for this.

I found this challenge quite challenging! Finding shadows is easy enough, but interesting shadows are less easy to find, so I've chosen this one taken on my phone.
This was a fun challenge. It's great to see how altering the focus point can change the feel of the photo.
Theme Of The Week - Macro/Close up
I was going to take a picture of a tiny toad I found in my yard, but he jumped out of my hands before I could get my camera.
Taken in 2004.

Not a new composition, I used this in my 52 week challenge 2018 but i've always been proud of the effort I put in with this one so thought I would give it another viewing.
Theme of The Week - Family Heirloom
My Dad's Grandfather was a farmer. He made little cabins in the winter when there was nothing else to do. We have 3 of the cabins, a tobacco barn, and a wheat field.
Great-Grandpa said one of his cabins was in the Missouri History Museum... that may or may not be true.
L'autoportrait du 1er janvier.
J'aimerais ne pas me limiter à un seul style. Je pratique plusieurs genres avec plaisir. Voilà, c'est parti pour la première semaine.
I received this lovely dragonfly picture for supporting a Kickstarter campaign a couple of years ago. The artists name is Jessi Somers.
The difficulty now is to get him to sleep! Little prince just wants to walk around all the time. hahaha
He's doing really well lately. A few cramps now and then, but apart from that it's alright. Thanks God!
Once again, THANK YOU for your prayers, positive thoughts and kind words. Can't even begin to tell you how strong I fell when I read them. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Have a great week, everyone!
Xx,
Lorena.
