Week#71 It took me all morning to do this. Figuring it out in Elements wasn't easy ...for ME! I finally got something that I liked. I wanted to make the plane smaller but couldn't do it easily...It actually was a fun challenge.

Theme of The Week - Tilt Shift
Today started out with the temperature around 100F, then 70+ mph winds with a torrential thunderstorm. This branch tore a chunk of siding off my house and bent the header pipe to the ground. Luckily, there was enough extra power line wire that I did not loose power. However I was on hold with the electric company for an hour and a half to report the downed line. Approximately 120,000 houses are without power in the St. Louis area.
I spied this little beauty in the supermarket carpark yesterday. It was receiving a great deal of interest from the public. I love the little fan on the front window.

Spent my Saturday evening at Reculver Towers near Herne Bay in Kent. Good conditions for star trails despite there being a 3/4 moon.
This image is compiled from 86 shots of 30s @ F4 at ISO 400. Processed through the excellent StarStaX with slight adjustments in PS.
Beginning of Week 3 of my Healthier Lifestyle, involving more exercise and fresh air and here's where I am at.
Day 1 - no exercise (exhausted)
Day 2 - marathon walk, including a pit stop for 2 of the most delicious caesars I've ever drank
Day 3 -another marathon walk, including antiquing & a caesar (not as noteworthy as the previous days
Day 4 - water aerobics (could feel muscles, I didn't even know existed)
Day 5 - dragged my tired body to swim lengths - swam 7 lengths & the pool was evacuated due to vomit (not mine)
Day 6 - desperately needed a break
Day 7 - craved the exercise, but couldn't find the time
Having a lot of trouble keeping up the 'exercise 6 days a week' plan. I managed 4 days this week, one shy of last week. Partially as I think I overdid the exercise early in the week and partially cause my life is busy and I am resisting the 6 am workout.
I do think the exercise is starting to show though. I seems to me that my love handles are slowly disappearing. This could all be in my imagination though. I am also now craving exercise and am not satisfied unless I get it.
Oh and I managed to cut out the late night eating in favour of cocoa.
Week 4 of 17.

Sometimes all you need is finding a unique tree and try to become part of it.
.
Everyone who knows me knows how much trees fascinate me, it seemed only logical to try to mimic one. Being one of those bugs that hides from enemies by looking like being part of a tree. It felt right.
.
The before/after of this, and the next topic for the 17weeks-project is up in my facebook-group: (Self)portraits with Laura Zalenga
I've decided to have a go at a 52 week project...not too sure how I will manage this, but I'm up for a challenge!
The project is called 'Let's get creative 2014,' a project started by two fantastic photographers Nathalie Donado and Ella Ruth Cowperthwaite, whose work I've followed for some time.

One week of my new healthy living regime done.
I almost met my goals this week, but not quite.
Here is what I did:
Day #1 - walk
Day #2 - walk
Day #3 - day of rest
Day #4 - airport hiking hauling a rather large cat
Day #5 - water aerobics
Day #6 - water aerobics
Day #7 - day of error - no time
Aside from this, being back into my old routine, I found it hard to always eat at reasonable times, so I caught myself eating dinner late on 3 of these nights. I'd like to eliminate the late night eating.
And how do I feel after week one? Way more energized.
Acrylic on 14x11 board
I am new to acrylics, but I sure had a lot of fun fingerpainting the patchwork underneath.
Metroline West TE1727 (SN09 CEX) on Route E3, Turnham Green Church. 31st May for the handover to London United :)
My travel map and wall decoration at the same time. It shows the whole world but I've only been to European countries until now.
It's the weekend!! You have no idea how excited I am about that.
Don't forget to go vote for my picture! It's in my photostream here, with instructions in the description. It would mean so much to me if you would vote for it, and you can vote every 12 hours!
I was tagged again! This time I'm tagging new contacts. So, nice to meet you! :)
1) I had the idea for this picture last night while I was trying to sleep. I'm really glad I remembered it.
2) My cat is trying to lay on the keyboard right now...
3) You should check out my website!
4) I can't wait until I get to try on wedding dresses someday.
5) I'm hungry.
6) Unsolved Mysteries is on. I loved this show when I was younger.
7) I have more summer clothes than winter clothes. Not a few more, WAY more.
8) My favorite show is Gossip Girl. This break in the season is killing me, but it starts back next week! Until then, I'm re-watching season 2. :)
9) I always make people riding in my car put on their seatbelt. Not because I'm bossy, I just feel very strongly about it, and there is definitely a reason for that.
10) I can't wait to be finished with college.
Week 07/52- Portrait: Faceless. My photo for this week is about a concentrated on news reading, waiting for her coffee. #dogwood52 #dogwoodweek7
Semana 07/52-Retrato: Sin rostro. Mi fotografÃa esta semana es la de una lectora concentrada en las noticias mientras espera por su café. #dogwood52 #dogwoodweek7
I'm starting a 52 weeks project. I decided that, in my heart of hearts, photography is something I truly want to grow in and be passionate about. I'll upload between weeks, but this time, I'm determined to finish.
:)
Today, I woke up at sunrise (stupid jetlag) and the light outside was so beautiful... and the feeling of waking up at home is one that is so irreplaceable.

Week 12: Smoke Photography
Category: Creative
Smoke from some incense. I don't have a separate flash so I used a small flashlight and Photoshop processing.
A week later and Jessica's birthday flowers are still looking good. Slight wilting on some but for the most part, they have stood up nicely. I hope your day is as bright and happy!
week of December 4th, 2011
Just a little experimenting :)
Also I do have a week thirty-nine but my scanner isn't working :(
The end.. (and flickr has messed it up :s)
So i could have gone out with a bang, or simply finish. I chose simple...
I find its so strange that this is it, over a year has passed doing this project with my short hiatus.
There are some photos i love, and plenty i hate but this project has given me the opportunity to find myself as a photographer, and has kept me interested and try new things. But now its over, i hope to carry on posting at least once a week, but it will be nice not to feel obligated, even though the only obligation was to myself.
I won't say i know where i want to go with photography yet (good job i have another year and a half of a degree to help me! maybe two if take on a masters!) But i feel i have developed more of my own style this past year and this has helped me with my university projects too, so i will forever be thankful for doing this.
So the end, thank you everyone who has followed me through this project, your comments/favourites mean a lot.
Anyway, i may be back with a 100 days of summer project in a few months, so then you will be stuck with daily updates!
