A teeny wool bird ornament made from felt that I made by hand. His eye is the teeniest vintage button and his belly is stuffed with extra wool. I handsewed him using a blanket stitch. He's about 3" from beak to tail.
Nothing beats standing in a wee stream on Christmas morning while kiddies with their new bicycles ride past :-) I love doing different things at Christmas!

Really nice Saturday visit for some of the best fish and chips in Scotland over at the Wee Hurrie in Troon, authentic view too!
This year my eldest son, my father and I went the event "Terug naar Toen (Back to then) by the VSM. And of course, many locs were under steam again. The SSN 65 018 and 01 1075 were visiting locomotives again. For the 65 018 one of her last appearances for the SSN before her to be taken out of service. The usual steam goods trains between Beekbergen and Apeldoorn were only running in the morning this year. So that was the focus for the morning. In the afternoon we mainly spend our time around Loenen. Again it was a magnificent spectacle with beautiful weather.
One of three American Robin (Turdus migratorius) chicks in this Rosebud Tree (Cercis canadensis) near the path on the east side Thomson Marsh, Kelowna, BC. Mom and Dad keep a close watch and discourage discovery by interlopers.... Photographing the chicks at this stage is difficult. Momma is quite likely to take a run at anyone who gets too close (says he who knows from experience)!
Taken at the Reifel Bird Refuge near Ladner, British Columbia, CA.
On my last visit to Reifel I was fortunate to find this little gnome hidden in a holly tree. The shot is somewhat grainy, since Willy shuns the limelight.

Better On Black
My brother-in-law from Croften BC, on the island grabbed this shot. He has several hummer feeders set up in his back yard. On this day it was a typical BC weather and just as he was taking the shot a nice shower opened up. The day was warm and the sun was shinning and this shower was totally unexpected.
It is not a very good shot but the best he could do, he says. I had asked him to grab some shots of these little birds for me. (scanned image)

Pee-wee Herman after a performance of "The Pee-wee Herman Show" on Broadway on October 30, 2010.
Take note, especially if you are attending a show and want to meet Pee-wee afterwards: he does not sign autographs at the stage door (as you can see from the Polaroid), but does come out and talk to people and let you take his picture. The crowds are just too big for him to sign for everyone, so he doesn't sign for anyone.
That said, I am still going to try to find a way to get him to sign this portroid, whether by mail or another event. Stay tuned!
Our Daily Challenge ... it flies.
A Pee Wee, or Magpie lark, took a rest on an old log at the lakes edge and ruffled it's feathers for a clean up.
Happy doggos headed for snacks on the cover of "Wee Paws in the Kitchen" by Sue Berkman. Illustrated by Eric Gurney - Published by Hawthorn Books, Inc. (1972)
I was rather disappointed when I missed out on Sarah's adorable little wyverns, especially when I saw how lovely the purple colour turned out. As such, I was super-excited when I got a chance to purchase this little guy from another collector on tumblr. (He arrived so quickly, I haven't even had a chance to give him a name yet!)
This little cutie is a Spark the Wyvern, from The Mushroom Peddler.
