Hi friends - I will be off flickr to celebrate our 43rd anniversary !

Hmmm.... What's this? A canon and a wedding chapel? The canon and this world-famous wedding chapel at the Top of the Rock Ozarks Heritage Presserve really don't have anything to do with each other... after all, wouldn't a canon be overkill for a shotgun wedding? :D Actually, the canon is kept in operating condition and it is shot at sunset each evening to herald the end to another day while someone plays bagpipes in the mountaintop outlook (which overlooks the chapel). At this time of the year, the sun was setting behind the chapel... which made for some dramatic photos.

Unforunately, it was a perfectly cloudless evening, so I added the cloud layer in post processing to create this composite.

A Peranakan or Baba-Nyonya wedding photo of the Chan family in their heritage museum. Although the wedding took place in the early 20th century, they chose to dress up in the style of the Ming-dynasty Chinese.

The amalgamation of the Rio Grande and Southern Pacific railroads was becoming a visual reality by the middle of 1989. While 10,687 ft. Loafer Mountain looks on, Southern Pacific SD40T-2 No. 8387 leads D&RGW train No. 179 through Mud Cut east of Springville, Utah the evening of June 30, 1989.

My daughter really likes the Harry Potter series, so we ordered the Hogwarts interior backdrop to set up the dinning area ... made for a great backdrop for some of the photos too.

Here is the groom and his mom and grandmother.

Used the subject selection in Lightroom and then inverted it to isolate the background to reduce clarity and focus to develop a bit more isolation.

Surrounded by family as she walks up the steps to the church. It was raining 13 years ago just as it is today. Now she has several children but looks just as beautiful!

Quite possibly my favorite parts to shoot during weddings. :)

How precious are these little goodies?!

I shot a wedding recently and the brides bouquet was made of these lilies...how fitting to go out into the garden later and find this female anole resting on a lily in the afternoon shade...back late evening to visit your streams..have a blessed day.

Cretan wedding the traditional way, 2nd photo. Traditional weddings in Crete have at least 800 guests and organized in a central square of the village. The guy in the photo is a friend of the broom and he is one of the dancers of the dancing group. In Crete there are many traditional dancing groups and in every occasion they go dancing wearing the old traditional Cretan costumes
