This little rotating Storm bypassed Cleveland Point on its way out to sea but it was incredible to watch it go by.
We've had the most incredible week of storms here in Brisbane over the last week. I hope we don't get any more for a while now.

According to the Yellowstone National Park webpage, Turquoise Pool has a temperature that ranges from 142-160°F (61-71°C) and is 100x110 feet (30.4x33.5m). The 1878 Hayden Expedition named this pool for its milky, white bottom and gem-like, blue-colored water. Suspended mineral particles in the water also add an opalescent iridescence. Turquoise has no apparent overflow channel, instead water drains through seepage. It does have an underground connection with Excelsior Geyser. When Excelsior was very active, Turquoise's water level dropped nearly ten feet and took nearly a year to recover. In June and July purple fringed gentians are common and bloom on the barren ground surrounding this pool.
Gentians were in bloom on the far end, near the woods, but they are hardly noticeable in this image.
This panorama was constructed using Photoshop CS6 to stitch together horizontally three images captured from the boardwalk next to this geothermal pool.

Iceland's Great Geysir mere moments before eruption (some really cool info at that link). The fantastic looking blue bubble holds this shape on the order of 1 second before the eruption, which was happening every 5-6 minutes during our visit. This shot is actually a merge of two. One for the overall landscape, and the second to time the bubble just right.
I already knew ahead of time, but this location reminded me yet again I HATE the smell of sulfur. The one night we stayed in downtown Reykjavik the little flat's water might as well have been pure sulfur. YUCK. Regardless, one can't go to Iceland w/o seeing this Geysir.
