One inch tubular webbing broke, just a few inches from the knot just like we were told it would. 20 years old and oil soaked, it still had a little less than 2/3 it's strength.
Made from oiled finish leather and webbing stiched with leather, fine stitching and solid stainless steel fittings for its strength.
Standard Duble harness consists of:·
Bridle with blinkers
Breast Plate
Saddle with fixed back band and Crupper·
Leather traces with Steel rings for quick release shackles or roller bolts·
Quick release tugs·
Brown leather reins
Breeching with trace carriers and breeching straps·
Breeching for comfort. Breeching Strap Connected with Buckle at the end of Breast Plate It can be padded or without padding.

This Blue Gray Gnatcatcher (Polioptila caerulea) was observed tearing in to a spider web and collecting web in its beak (bill). These gnatcatchers are known to pick and eat spiders out of their webs, but also to collect spider webbing for their nests. It looks like this one is collecting web for its nest.

This little goose was head of the welcoming committee at the caravan park I stayed at in Adelaide over the weekend. She was very talkative and wasn't doing too badly for herself, despite the injured foot.

I skipped my coffee the other morning and went out web hunting instead. Each web seemed to have it's own personality; casual, precise, sloppy, uptight, ...kind of like people!

This is webbing between old seed whorls of native Black Sage (Salvia mellifera, Lamiaceae) in the woods today. I believe this is the work of a cribellate species of Mesh Web Weaver in the family Dictynidae, see this photo for the actual spider.
