Black nylon webbing collars with pretty handmade flowers and glass beads sewn on. Each has a silver bell and silver buckle.
This is another photo of the same Silver Argiope (Argiope argenatata) spider with those impressive horns on the back of its abdomen down by the river. You can see its "stabilimentum" - the zigzag structures of webbing that looks like cigarette smoke in an old film noir movie. It has captured and packaged an unfortunate Wasp in the upper-left. I was experimenting with manual focus and exposure compensation to take some pictures of a spider web outside my door. When I got closer I noticed the web has inhabited,
So this thing looked really cool from far away, but pretty scary up close. The trampoline at the bottom is to catch all the unsuspecting kids who fall through the 5 or so stories of plastic webbing. Kid you not, we saw at least 3 kids plumet down the middle of this thing.
Seat section done and back section laced. It's not really elegant but it is done. Actually I've already ordered some mesh fabric and grommets so that I can make something more traditional but that will take more time than I can spare before my next outing.

Hello again,
can anybody help me identify what insect might be creating all this webbing on all new growth? Could it be damaging the tree. It is a young Cherry Tree. Thanks in advance for any help!

Insert webbing about an inch into each end of your strap. Pin and baste across the open end to hold the webbing in place.

Look at the example Escaper and be sure the webbing alternates over and under on each cross. You can wrap the webbing around a rope for each cross to help get the twisting action correct as well.
