If I had to pinpoint my two greatest weaknesses, it would be the fear of letting people down and having a lot of social anxiety. That is one reason why I tend to shy away from photographing people outside of myself. For this photo shoot I decided to take the leap and push forward with a commissioned shoot that this beautiful soul, Adrienne, requested. The whole process was a reminder that you can never know the ways you will touch someone's life, how others will impact your life, and reaffirmed that every story is worth telling if it means enough to someone.

A sea arch is a natural opening eroded out of a cliff face by marine processes. Some arches appear to have developed from surge channels, which are created by wave refraction causing the focussing of wave fronts on the side of a headland (which might be the cause in both instances above).
More generally, arches develop where waves attack a plane of weakness which cross-cuts a promontory. Caves produced on either side of a promontory may become joined over time to become a tunnel and, finally, an arch.
The supporting roof of the arch is known as the keystone. The architecture of an arch is a reflection of its lithology and structure. Sea arches have been regarded as ephemeral forms tending to survive over periods of just few decades or centuries. The term sea tunnel can be used to describe a hole in the cliff line where the arch itself is considerably longer than the width of the entrance (perhaps a better way of describing the feature on the right of the image).
Note the well-defined long vertical crack above the arch on the right. There are two simillar, but less well-defined cracks on the headland to the left as well.
The arches seen above are in Port Campbell National Park which is, of course, more famous for the Twelve Apostles. Facilitating tourist access, the Great Ocean Road runs past quite closely to this location.
There was a guy on Fstoppers.com awhile back who did very dramatic black and white urban landscapes.
They looked like they were taken at night, but the EXIF data showed they were taken mid-afternoon. Another tell - and what gave them a surreal quality - was that there no lights in the windows.
So they were a very well-executed, still-photo versions of, "Day For Night," or, as the French directors call it, "La Nuit Américaine" This is one of my attempts at the genre, although it was taken just before sunset.
What do you think?
ETA: (10/24/2016)
The biggest weakness of this attempt is that the photo isn't sharp - I must've shot it handheld. (Or turned off AF because it "hunting" in a prior shot and forgot to turn it back on. I'm ... kind of a space case, TBH)
Please vote for this image here! It would mean the world to me!
--Spotted on Explore at #71. How Nice :D--
I have had a very turbulent January,so it would seem.
I've been unwell for well over a week now with Flu, chest/sinus infections and now my M.E is acting up... I've got alot going on at Uni and with other projects and collaborations too. I feel like I've fallen off the horse this month!
If it hadn't been for my willpower, I don't think I would have taken photos today, but I hadn't photographed anything since my last portrait session, and I have new toys to play with and get used to. This is rough work for Uni anyhow!
It's scary how new equipment can unnerve you when you're not used to it,I feel how I did when I first got my 450d; really lost and inferior to the equipment. I think I know alot more now than I did back then though :P
On the plus side, I am an Auntie at long last,so aside from all the sad news of being ill and house-bound most of the time, there has been some joy :)
I really hope I make a speedy recovery as I do not like being inactive!
This one was kind of an experiment. I love my 100-400 IS ii, but one major weakness it has is that it flares pretty easily if the sun or bright light shines directly on the front element. Rarely will it produce ghosting artifacts, but because of the flare I don't shoot close to the sun much with it. I do not have a UV filter or anything else on it, and I do my best to keep it clean, but still it flares easily. Just by looking through the viewfinder anywhere in this direction I could see how hazy the image was going to be. Knowing that, I wanted the glow of the rising sun that was just coming up over the trees adding a look of warmth.
The original was very flat so with a little bit of masking here and there and a whole lot of extra contrast and voila. Depending on how one would choose to process it there could be many different end results and as far as processing for accuracy as to what I saw with the naked eye, well that is out the window as I would only have seen some very bright light and a glaring scene. It may not be the best capture of sunrise, but I think it coveys cold with a promise of warmth, which is what I was hoping for.
One wee bit I hadn't seen at the time was the open water and its reflections beside the lodge. I am still seeing open water a bit besides lodges which I find interesting, so although I have seen this particular lodge to be a popular spot for Pelicans to rest, I am guessing that it is still an active lodge.
Some people, because I am kind, helpful and caring, think that my kindness would be a weakness... What a mistake!!!
Those who made this mistake disappeared from my Second Life instantly.
Never think that you could lie to me more than once or take advantage of my kindness, don't even try to direct me or dominate me, that would be the immediate way out.
SL is made to smile and be happy, so let's play it this way 😇
I have a weakness. When I see fuzzy duckling, I must take a photo. There were about 10 of these little guys all huddled together with Momma a couple feet away standing guard.
this week is pick your own theme and I picked compassion as this is a quote I have wanted to use for awhile. While it is a simple statement you realize how true when you try to stay in compassion and forgiveness. It is not always easy, but is always good for us all. This is another lovely sunset in our back yard.

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses. - Ann Landers
Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky. -Rainer Maria Rilke
He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo❤️
it's a necessity. ever kept a big secret from your loved ones for a long time, and finally comes the time to confess? the terror of it all, the weakness it makes you feel and you just..surrender. less than 96 hours, I will be upside down.
“To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.”
Poem:
Cheer up, O grievous snail.
I tap your shell, encouragingly,
not that you will ever know about it.
And I want nothing to do with you, either, sulking toad.
Imagine, at least four times my size and yet so vulnerable.
I could open your belly with my claw.
You glare and bulge, a
watchdog near my pool; you make a loud and hollow noise.
I do not care for such stupidity.
I admire compression, lightness,
and agility, all rare in this loose world.
" Get your kicks through persecution.
Used as scapegoats for your exterior doubts.
Exposing weakness retarded, unworthy.
I cannot begin to comprehend how you wear such shame with vigour
Homophobic race antagonist.
Harmony can only flourish with mutual regard. "
(Aryanisms by Napalm Death from Utopia Banished 1992)
THE THOUGHT: Today is an important day, avoid opening
useless and sterile political debates this is not the place. Talk about numbers, not numbers, how many, where, how, in what way or when: WHAT HAPPENED WAS REAL !! I have studied it minutely for many years immersed in books, vhs, researches, documented almost ad nauseam, my conclusion? MISTAKES MADE SHOULD NEVER BE REPEATED! But the human being makes a tremendous effort to learn and forgets too easily and that is why so many things MUST BE REMEMBERED and teach the new generations to never repeat mistakes.
THE PHOTO: The photo is linked to war and music. I'm next to a piece of the Berlin Wall in front of the Imperial War Museums in London. This frame was used as a background for photo of a band called NAPALM DEATH dear to me and very important for a kind music scene that tends to awaken human beings with very important messages. It was taken by my wife at my request, it is nothing striking only my tribute to the band but above all a warning to tear down all those real and virtual walls that human beings create with their ignorance, arrogance and hate a message thinking that a better world is not utopia and the prerogative of a few but respect and collaboration between every human being so CHANGE YOUR LIFE !
Everyone has a weakness for something and for me it's exciting cars. So when we go to beach cities I look for luxury cars. This week we saw this Aston Martin convertible being parked by the valet service at Montage Resort. (no, we didn't stay there; we go to their beaches for Benni to run and me to take pictures.)
This is me taking the photo, reflected in the glassy smooth hood/bonnet.

A full renovation of St Peter's Cathedral only began in 1886. Because of structural weaknesses and damage suffered in the fire of 1689, the west choir had to be completely rebuilt. Great importance was placed on reusing as much of the original stone as possible. In the outer wall this was taken so far that today all but a small portion of the old stones are in their original locations. On the inside wall, large flat stones had to be used and faithfully reconstructed. The sharply bent dosseret over the central rosette window was not rebuilt since it was blamed for the structural issues. Today the dosserets run perpendicular to the edge of the rosette and frame it clearly. The general renovations, which also included renovation of the chapel of St Nicholas, the reconstruction of the whole floor and the addition of an entirely new crypt for the tombs of the Salians under the high choir, were only completed in 1935.
In the course of the renovation work, in 1920 the head architect, Philipp Brand, was standing on the scaffolding when a dachshund attacked, and attempted to bite him on the leg. He stepped to the side and as a result escaped from a falling stone which had broken loose above him, killing the dog. In the upper left of the south portal, at the edge of the window in the left corner is a statue of the dachshund – Philipp Brand had this installed as a small memorial.
In the allied bombing on 21 February and 18 March 1945, the cathedral was damaged by a bomb, which did not affect the interior. The roof burnt but the vaults remained intact.
Software has always been one of my weaknesses so I chose to spend most of April developing my digital skills.
Even though I still have no clue what I'm doing, my renders should (hopefully) look more vibrant and life-like from now on. I've still got some way to go but I think it looks much better than before.
I actually built this speeder with real bricks more than a year ago but it ended up unsuccessful. The only part I liked about it was the back/thrusters so I gave it some time and finally revisited it digitally, added some detail and completely redid the nose from scratch.

Photography is just that...a Mesmerizing Passion...a this self portrait, for me, translate exactly that :)
The Enol Lake in Asturies is a site for sore eyes. To get the chance to see it without heavy clouds and fog we had to go up there three times but it was worth it!
The Enol is part of the Lakes of Covadonga (el. 1134 m.) that are composed of two glacial lakes located on the region of Asturias, Spain. These lakes, often also called Lakes of Enol or simply Los Lagos, are Lake Enol and Lake Ercina located in the Picos de Europa range and they are the original center of the Picos de Europa National Park, created in 1918.
The road ascending from Covadonga to the lakes is a popular climb in professional road bicycle racing, having been used by Vuelta a España many times in the last 25 years.
This a truly fantastic and mesmerizing place and it certainly worth getting up that road three times in 24 hours:)
I thank today also so for you support in every like and comment, i really appreciate it!

I have a weakness for good Turkish Delight. Co worker next to me kept going on about Narnia. Turns out that it was a book/movie from a while ago that featured the candy.
Years ago, my friend competed in a tournament overseas and she had brought me a box of these delightful treats. I've been hooked on them since.
I'm tired of weakness Tired of my feet of clay I'm tired of days to come I'm tired of yesterday And all the worn-out Things that I ever said Now it's much too late The words stay in my head
So the day will begin again Take comfort from me It's up to you now You're still here and You'll dig in again That's comfort to you It's up to you now So Pariah, you'll begin again Take comfort from me And I will take comfort from you
I'm tired of Facebook Tired of my failing health I'm tired of everyone And that includes myself Well being alone now It doesn't bother me But not knowing if you are Well that's been Hell, you see
So the day will begin again Take comfort from me It's up to you now You're still here and You'll dig in again That's comfort to you It's up to you now So Pariah, you'll begin again Take comfort from me It will take time

In the turmoil of the Great Galactic War there were several branches of the Sith Empire, each with their own leaders. One of these branches was led by Darth Mavus and his apprentice Darth Koroge. The two of them were unlikely allies. Darth Mavus, strong in the force and a devoted scholar of the ancient Sith mysteries, pulled the strings behind their war efforts. Utilizing his meditation techniques, sacrifices and rituals as well as his knowledge of ancient languages and holorcrons, he identified targets, strategies and allies. While well educated in the more delicate matters of the force, he was far less proficient in physical combat, a task he rather left to his apprentice, Darth Koroge. Koroge, born into nobility and a very charismatic personality, had killed his parents in his lust for power at the age of 13. Admittedly being too old for thorough training in the spiritual aspects of the force, Mavus saw his aggression as a potential to forge the perfect warrior. Koroge went on to be known for his cruelty and sadistic tendencies even within the Sith Empire, making the soldiers both, fear and admire him. Overcoming their individual weaknesses together, the two of them and their small, but efficient armada of Sith soldiers conquered countless worlds and killed dozen of Jedi in the process. It was only when Koroge turned on his master, that their campaign ended. Being unable to stop his apprentice by physical means, Darth Mavus trapped Koroge in an illusion, just as his blade pierced his body. In this illusion Koroge would be forced to relive his childhood, always standing in his father’s shadow, for eternity, while in reality being unable to move and cowering over his former master’s corpse. Even in death, the two of them cancelled out one another’s strengths and weaknesses.
