We had made it to our destination on Route 65 and it was now time to head back home. We decided that it would be fun to travel back up Route 65 and get the southern perspective on many of the great subjects we discovered on our trip down. Enjoy the return trip up Route 65.

I've always been told that it is tradition to add a stone to a cairn when you come across one in your travels.
Unexpected country music session at the conference featuring Ashley McBryde. She was great!!! For we’re here visiting portraits of popular musicians.
Mk1 Universal Carrier Model C21UCG 'Tank Hunter'
During WWII Canada experimented with many different carrier projects and one resulted in the C21UCG with a 2 Pdr. gun being mounted to it. Also called the Carrier Universal Tank Hunting. In 1941-42 Canada created 24 Universal Carriers that mounted a 2 Pdr. AT Gun at the front with rounds for the gun being mounted around the sides of the vehicle.
We went through these machines twice. They are to make sure we haven't picked up anything significantly radioactive on our bodies or clothes. I don't know if they checked the van with all of our stuff in it while we were doing this - probably. I asked our guide if anyone has ever set the machine off. Indeed, they had! She said that, a while back, one man, from Russia, went back to Kyiv without his pants, because there was something on them that was radioactive. He had thought a photo in one of the earth moving scoopers was a GREAT idea and that's probably where whatever it was attached to his pants.

Fiddleheads sautéing in butter & olive oil. This was our first time with fiddleheads. Definitely tasty, but I didn't go nuts for them.
Lyon Farm WWII Timeline 1939-1945
Lyon Historical Farm, Yorkville, IL
Early Sunday morning, still dozing in our borrowed tent, Jackie and I could hear some of the folks around us hurriedly packing up; first we hear somebody shout, "Where are we supposed to go if there is a tornado!?" Tornado? You could tell the wind had picked up a bit because the tent was sucking in and out a bit more than usual, but it wasn't bad. Whatever. The sky was clear and there was a beautiful day on its way at around 4:30 a.m. when I got up to shuffle, half awake, to the bathroom. Everything calm and peaceful. Maybe they were just super safety conscious people. Then we hear, "It's just a matter of a race against time now!" Well, that got us up and out of that tent. We were greeted by a very mean looking sky, wind whipping all around us, and spitting rain. Good morning severe thunderstorm! Lovely to see you at six in the morning.
I should have turned around and shot what was behind me, the sky in that view was way scarier. Oh well, it was a race against time and we didn't have much to spare.
(In case you were wondering, this is the type of tent we spent the night in: www.olive-drab.com/od_soldiers_gear_mountain_tent.php . I believe it belongs to these guys: www.robertsarmory.com/10th2.htm )
Semi Final game for the Hockey East Championship -- Northeastern Huskies vs. UMASS Lowell River Hawks.
At this fantastic venue but need cash so rather than a glorious shot of the views here will stick to the we’re here theme of banalities and snap the atm.
We are honored to talk about how technology inspires art at the @pdxconf with @maplexo & @garettstenson. #pdxconf

At the last of our business day before Idul Fitri holiday, we have great dinner together, as part of official breaking fast for this Ramadan.
I am guilty of often forgetting we have a third dog as Jodie is a short scruffy old mongrel. But without that scruffy little furball the hounds wouldn't have come to live here and for that matter neither would I!! (Long story and I'll tell you if you really want to know it)
Parkgoers, and "We" by Jaume Plensa, soaking up the sun at Sunset Beach Park, in the West End, Vancouver
The Sun had already set in a little-bitty gap on the horizon out at Blevins Gap Nature Preserve. I thought we were done and I was setting up another shot for when the city lights came out.
I was wrong. I had to stop chit-chatting and hustle to get this. It’s the best I could do with the “wrong” lens on the camera.
