We popped down and eavesdropped from a branch right above her head the other day ... and you know what we heard? Sounds like she's working away on her annual "12 Days of Christmas Butterflies"! She may sneak in some dragonflies ... we're not sure but we think a winter Green anole overheard more ... and will be by soon with more info.
Cheers! a pair of tiny Brown-headed nuthatches in Vicki's yard

I think it's about the second day that I can recall in two months that the Sun shined all day and we had no rain. OMG I sound like a right old fart but two months ago I told my English contacts we'd all still be moaning about the British Summer...
Anyway, I made the most of it and even with my girlfriend nagging in my ear made it to Gummer's How, and after all the nagging she quite enjoyed it.
One or two more to follow from this set........
We are in the final stages of the new bed, So when Ramos was taking a break i snuck in for a quick selfie.

We may look a bit different but deep down we are copy and paste versions of each other. We live inside each others heads and even finish each others thoughts regularly. I love you bb.

We never have a chance to see the Aura, until last night. I didn't even know about it, we usually are way too far south to see this special event. Congrats to the lucky person that captured this beautiful moment!
In this shot taken at Chase Falls, I believe nothing is in sharp focus. Rather, the swirling and flowing water, has disturbed all elements in the frame. This has left the image more ethereal, or surreal. Or, perhaps more like what we see than what we remember.
On this day, the flow was intense and left me wondering if a more intimate shot would render a unique view. The closer perspective gave rise to a different image with its tiered and stratified appearance.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

We embarked on a journey to the expansive Kern National Wildlife Refuge, a 11,249-acre sanctuary nestled in California’s southern San Joaquin Valley, about 50 miles north of Bakersfield. This vital habitat is a crucial stopover for thousands of migratory birds along the Pacific Flyway. As we explored the refuge, we were fortunate to encounter a striking White-faced Ibis gracefully wading through the wetlands in search of its next meal.

Time for something different, i would like to do more architecture, but for now, there's still some water involved :-) I was standing on a jetty in a harbor, it was moving up and down, i tried to take a long exposure, but it was totally unsharp. So I did a creative edit on this one, because it's the only place to take this shot.
Hope you'll like it, kind regards, Christophe.
After visiting Kirkjufell, we stayed at the Grundarfjörður campsite and continued further east the next day, where we hiked up Saxhóll crater, visited Svöðufoss and went on a whale watching tour in Ólafsvík. We then decided to stay that night at the campsite in Ólafsvík as there were showers available there (unlike in Grundarfjörður, where you had to use the showers of the swimming pool right next to the campsite, which was of course closed at later hours), but before settling down for the night we seriously considered visiting Kirkjufell again, especially since it was very close by. I still had the beautiful sunset from the day before in my mind (which you can see in my last upload), but half an hour before sunset it was very overcast with no sign of sunlight and hence we decided to stay in our campervan.
Half an hour later, however, I couldn’t resist looking out of the window checking the sunset and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I know that the weather in Iceland can change very quickly, but I didn’t think that a heavily clouded sky can break up and give rise to such an explosion of colors. Well, there was I standing in awe, regretting that I didn’t drive to Kirkjufell again, but then I tried to make the best of it. Since the campsite was in the foreground, I decided to go for some intimate compositions and this single cloud immediately caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such insane colors and I really would have loved to photograph Kirkjufell, but then I never would have taken this image which I really like. I hope you like it too! :)
