Cleaning out the Belmore Falls folder and thought these couple needed rethinking.. Like the longshot of this but it also worked as a triptych of sorts as well?

Gee, we loved this trailer..
We had some hot nights and a few very cold ones, had to sleep with the windows zipped up, a pillow next to the wall and a beanie on.
Then we realised if we got a powered site we could take the chill off the air with a little fan heater on low all night...

En-route from Honolulu to Sydney, just near waypoint CUFFY ( S5° 0.00', W174° 39.10') is this little island. Right out in the middle of nowhere. A little bit of google-ing and here is what I found:
From Wikipedia:
Nikumaroro, formerly Gardner Island, is part of the Phoenix Islands, Kiribati, in the western Pacific Ocean, a remote, elongated, triangular coral atoll with profuse vegetation and a large central marine lagoon, located at 4.66° S 174.53° W. Nikumaroro is approximately 6 km long by less than 2 km wide. There are two narrow entrances through the rim, both of which are blocked by a wide reef which is dry at low tide.
There is documented, archaeological and anecdotal evidence to support a hypothesis that in July 1937 Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan landed and died on Gardner after failing to find Howland Island during the final stages of their ill-fated World Flight, including indications Earhart may have survived for several months before British survey parties began arriving in 1938.

This waypoint has great significance for me. The first time I visited here with my girlfriend Lorraine was a very special day out, that cemented our relationship.
We placed our own additions to the top of this pile, the pile still grows and grows.
Off into the sunset, we would eventually reach the safety of the car at 2300 in the pitch dark. Twelve hours after we started our adventure on the Brandy Pad. Note to self, read the map cause a two hour detour really didn't help!
I don't usually do the promotional thing, but just saw this today and was so excited that I wanted to post about it. One of my builds was featured on the official Halo Waypoint website! Kind of neat. Link to the site: Halo Waypoint.
St. Chad’s Church occupies a prominent position in Shrewsbury. It opened in 1792 after the old St. Chad’s collapsed in 1788. It was designed by George Steuart who also designed nearby Attingham Park.
St Chad’s is a unique church because it is round. With a capacity of 1200 people the building has the ability to make everybody feel close to the centre of the church. The three angels on the ceiling are a representation of the Holy Trinity, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The church is a Grade I listed building.
The sanctuary window is a copy in stained glass of a triptych by Rubens in Antwerp Cathedral; it was made in the 1840s by David Evans, a local stained glass artist. The original pulpit, which obscured the altar, was removed in 1888; it was replaced by a copper and brass pulpit in Arts and Crafts style, placed to one side and giving a clearer view of the Sanctuary.
Charles Darwin was christened at St. Chad’s in 1809.
The entrance hall has many memorials relating to the 53rd Regiment of Foot, and its successor regiment the King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) including:
* alabaster tablet memorial to officers and men of the 53rd who died at the Battle of Sobraon (1846);
* large tablet to those of that regiment who died in the Indian Mutiny campaign (1857–59);
* tablet to those of the 1st Battalion KSLI who died in the Egyptian campaign of 1882;
* tablet to those of the 1st KSLI who died in the occupation of Suakim, Sudan, 1885–86;
* tablet above vestibule entrance to KSLI dead (4,700 all ranks) of the Great War, unveiled 1930 in presence of Poet Laureate John Masefield; and
* books of remembrance of KSLI war dead of both World Wars, in separate cases.
In 1913 a vestry off the right hand side of the entrance lobby was converted to a chapel of St Aidan, in memory of former vicar Richard Eden St Aubyn Arkwright. In 1951, at about same time as a second storey was added to another vestry the opposite side of the lobby, funds were raised to convert this chapel into a regimental chapel for the KSLI, resulting in an enlarged apse, new altar, rood screen, rails and chairs. In 1952 and 1966 Regimental colours were laid up here.
After World War I, the church's main sanctuary was refitted with a light oak reredos, designed by Cecil Lightwood Hare, new altar and wainscot as a memorial to the parish fallen of the war, repainted in gold leaf and cobalt in 1951.
In recent times, the churchyard was used as a location for the filming of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Scrooge’s ‘gravestone’ can still be seen today.
At the time of our visit a rehearsal for the following day’s National Youth Choir Competition was taking place.

A glorious thing it is to live in a tent in the infinite-to waken in the grey of dawn, a good hour before the sun outlines the low ridges of the horizon, and to come out into the bright cool air, and scent the wind blowing across the mulga plains.
My first thought would be to probe the ashes of my open fireplace, where hung my primitive cooking-vessels, in the hope that some embers had remained alight. Before I retired at night, I invariably made a good fire and covered the glowing coals with the soft ash of the jilyeli, having watched my compatriots so cover their turf fires in Ireland.
I would next readjust the stones of the hob to leeward of the morning wind, and set the old Australian billy to boil, while I tidied my tent, and transformed it from bedroom to breakfast-room.

The waypoint at the joining of the train track and the Miner's Path near the summit of Mount Snowdon, Wales.
The past year and a half has been strange. I've had a lot of big changes in my personal life, and I've been taking a closer look at myself. I've decided to try more self-portraits now and again, because that's something I rarely do. If nothing else, as a kind of waypoint or marker in time. Maybe it'll be interesting to look back on them later. Maybe not.
But just a heads up, you'll see the occasional selfie pop up in here. I'll space em out though. ;P
I'm just posting this photo because I need a waypoint marker to stash emojis. Plus, every time I see this photo I smile - sooo cute!
I'm super lazy today. It's like normal lazy but I'm wearing a cape.

Ruta Ciclista: The Magic of Os. Waypoint turning to Canolich at village of Bixessarri. It is the major part of "Ruta Ciclista Coll de Gallina": The 2nd stage starts here. Short and heavy.
Hikers can take this alternative pilgrim hiking footpath to Santuari de Canolich "Cami de Canolich" beside the other one starting in Aixovall. At Canolich there is a Parador (hostal) with restaurant. Nothing else exists, except the chapel. Anyway... you should note the anual "Diada de Canolich" feast at springtime. All "Lauredians" are there!
Ruta ciclista: This 2nd stage of Ruta Ciclista Coll de Gallina via Canolich needs condition as there are nasty peaks with 15-18%.
2 more exciting options here: 1. Cycling or rambling to Aixas (a farm) or, as seen on the foto 2. Cycling or rambling (or by car) to Os de Civis, Alt Urgell, Catalunya along Riu d'Os "The Magic of Os", following the old smuggler paths.
Os de Civis offers authentic rural pyrenean architecture and has a little infrastructure with hostels and restaurants close to the Pyrenees high mountain area of Pallars Sobira. It offers rustic 4x4 excursions and rural holiday offers. If Andorra seems to be much too perfect - Os de Civis is the rustic alternative.

Cosplayer Unknown.
I'm a big fan of the Halo games so creating this image was a real treat for me. I've used a screen render from the game itself for the background on this and adjusted the cosplayer to fit in with it.
I tweeted this to the bods over at Halo Waypoint and they seemed pretty impressed, I've also had a couple of folks tellng me this isn't actually a cosplay but rather a CG render of the character which I can only take a compliment :D
I'm really enjoying playing with Photoshop at the moment!

This mosaic of four images taken by the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) camera on NASA's Mars rover Curiosity shows detailed texture in a ridge that stands higher than surrounding rock. The rock is at a location called "Darwin," inside Gale Crater. Exposed outcrop at this location, visible in images from the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, prompted Curiosity's science team to select it as the mission's first waypoint for several days during the mission's long trek from the "Glenelg" area to Mount Sharp.
MAHLI took the component images shortly before sunset on the 400th Martian day, or sol, of Curiosity's work on Mars (Sept. 21, 2013). The camera was positioned about 10 inches (25 centimeters) from the rock. Scale is indicated by the Lincoln penny from the MAHLI calibration target, shown beside the mosaic.
Nice waypoints they are. I have a hunch that rainy season will start earlier than usual this year, the cumulus seems omnipresent.
