This tree has many tales to tell. The sacred tree stands alone in a big paddy field, the tribals worship the tree, and it has saved people in floods. I don't for how long its staying there or how many tales it has to tell.
The tree stands alone in a 300 acre paddy field - "nemam padam". And location is wayanad, kerala. The shot was taken at 7 am.

The hair-pin bends on the National Highway - 212 between Wayanad and Kozhikode. They are both a visual delight and a lot of fun to drive on.

The deer you can see walking down the road in the previous shot came right up to the window looking for food. It was so used to humans, we were able to touch it. It was almost like a puppy.
Chembra peak is the highest peak in Wayanad at 2100m above MSL. When I trekked the region, it was early winter - which is why I saw it in beautiful weather. The view of the peak from the tea gardens below is breathtaking. My guide recommended that the peak should be scaled during the monsoons, when the slopes become treacherous and "leechy". Someday .....
