Heated water cooler conversation. Males and females house sparrows.

Milu waiting for someone to turn up with the gossip

Like the proverbial watercooler, these cows ingest hay around the bale feeder. A little later they'll all be chewing cud !!!

Three Gossips at Arches National Park, Utah

This birdbath with its dripper has been seeing a LOT of activity lately. And with summer now making itself known, with super-hot days of sweltering temps, all our backyard visitors are going to be gathering around this watercooler!

This little chipmunk is just one of many who paused for a quick drink while I was doing some "bird watching" the other day.

Apparently today we broke a 98-year-old cold weather record. When I went to go out this afternoon my trusty diesel VW steed wouldn't start and needed a boost. Although I grew up with much colder temperatures, I gotta say one of the features of living in the interior of British Columbia is supposed to be its more moderate weather -- ha!!

Another abstract shot of the water dispenser condensation.

This one has been sitting around awhile so thought I better get it up.

I had to smile when I saw this little squirrel perched on the edge of this Goodie Bowl. Most squirrels will just reach over the edge to grab the nuts inside, but not this little rascal.

He jumped up there like he'd done it a thousand times, and started munching away. He also kept a close eye on those two birdies. Almost like they were all trading Goodie Bowl secrets. Gossiping about who was the messiest eater, the glutton, the one with the best manners, etc. My bet is this little squirrel might fall under "the cutest" category.

Sometimes this small feeder gets pretty crowded. This time it's standing room only for all these little sparrows.

It must be equivalent to gossiping at the watercooler.

I got a Diana+ for Christmas and this was one of the few decent exposures from my very first roll ever. They look better in person, my scanner doesn't want to scan nicely.

Wonder what the watercooler gossip is like around this place! Quite possibly multi dimensional. Whatever the party line is...it's all what we make it if you ask me. The light seems to rise above it all.

Since the water cooler wasn't really the main attraction in the other shot, here it is.

Battledog's water cooler is awesome, but his tank looked upside-down to me, so I built my own. :)

It's been a few months since baseball ended and I'm ready for it to return...Spring Training games start in a little over a week from now and regular season about a month after that. Bring on baseball...

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~Jeremiah 29:11

Once-quaint Carlsbad, New Mexico is that no more, the current oil & gas boom having converted its charm into a frenzy equal to that of a smash-and-grab robbery on 5th Avenue.

Once a pleasant drive up from Pecos, Texas, US285 has recently and rightfully earned the nickname of "The Highway of Death" due to the extreme volume of heavy truck traffic and oilfield workers hurrying about the process of raking in as much cash as possible, and the inevitable carnage that results from their haste and inattention while driving.

With its windows plated and grated over, former caboose now termed 'shoving platform' BN 12227P tags along behind the Potash Local as it leaves Carlsbad on its daily run to the mines in southeastern New Mexico's Loving County. With watercooler strapped securely to the walkway, and broom standing at the ready for any occasion, the old hack leaves town on a March 2021 morning and heads to work amid all the discarded ugliness that motorist on adjacent US285 can toss out their windows.

They will leave their mark, and not care.

When it's time to move on to the next boom, it will be someone else's problem.

Just a simple, everyday scene on Endor. No stories, no jokes, no special effects...
