This Cormorant hadn't long emerged from the water after fishing and was in the process of holding its wings out to dry.

Taken at sunrise at Merewether Beach (NSW, Australia) way back in May 2011.

The image doesn't follow the classic rule of thirds - but I felt that there was enough interest happening throughout the scene that it warranted the presentation as shown - hope you agree!!

At the bottom of our road is another road, and then this. But " I'm always on my way somewhere else, so I forget to stop".

 

"Tell me about it" says the egret, "I'm a river and estuary kind of guy, but the fishing here is great and that sun. Did you know it does this every day?"
