Back in the spring when it was wetter,greener and much cooler. :-) Best viewed large.
This Cormorant hadn't long emerged from the water after fishing and was in the process of holding its wings out to dry.
An old image from my hard drive that I decided to play around with.....
Taken at sunrise at Merewether Beach (NSW, Australia) way back in May 2011.
The image doesn't follow the classic rule of thirds - but I felt that there was enough interest happening throughout the scene that it warranted the presentation as shown - hope you agree!!

he water rail (Rallus aquaticus) is a bird of the rail family which breeds in well-vegetated wetlands across Europe, Asia and North Africa. Northern and eastern populations are migratory, but this species is a permanent resident in the warmer parts of its breeding range. (wikipedia)
