Getting there was part of the adventure, just south of Big Sur Station on Highway 1 there is unsigned Sycamore Canyon Road which winds its way down to the shore. The two-mile long road is twisty and narrow, so RV’s and trailers are not allowed. The road is narrow and bumpy, not easy driving in the dark early morning. Very slow driving following google map. Arriving at the empty parking lot with no car, no people… head lights on, walked down to the beach.

One rock has a rock arch in it known as the Keyhole Arch, the large rock that is a staple of Pfeiffer State Beach. This amazing natural arch allows waves, and even the last rays of daylight, to pass through it. I could not find the hole at the beginning, it was too dark, I found later… took couple of photos while listening the waves hitting the rocks, when the early morning light shining on the rocks.

Was visiting the University of Tartu Botanical Gardens.

Don't ask me about the names of the plants/flowers. I don't know and don't care much. I was just admiring the beauty... and taking pictures. :D

Best is always inside the blog, thanks for taking the time ♥

After everything was said and done and we were gathered together under the High King of the Reunited Kingdom, hope prevailed!

We made our way to Rivendell.

Once there, we gathered one last time.

Wise words still echo in my head:

"All we can do is forge ahead..."

"it is not over."

Indeed, it is through the grace of God, his blessings, and direction that we begin again.

A new start.

This is another photo from the Tallahassee area at the Tallahassee museum . The cypress trees reminded me of a cathedral or some other form of architecture. I spent a good deal of time there with my good friend and created new memories for a new start.

Thank you all for your kind favs and comments. I will come visit your kingdoms in time.

I was surpised to see how comfortable this guy was to land right next to me.... I was crawling back (I was too close to the bird for the minimum focus distance of my lens) He did not start screaming and fly away as they so often do even when he realised I was laying there... perhaps he was so focus on the last meal of the day he wanted to handle the risk or did not really notice me or perhaps he just thought I was nothing to be afraid off. I think that we may have met ealier that day in a different area but in close by proximity of that zone. It is hard to be sure as all Great Blue Herons look alike. Anyway, I am sure we could have spent the night together, him sort of "hiding" in the trench created by the tidal movement and me just above sea level on dry land taking pictures. I did not take the risk to go down to his level as I did not want him to leave... so shooting from above a bit... something I rarely do but I really enjoy those situations where birds are completely at ease with the presence of the paparazzi.

This was taken at Iluka beach. It was an overcast day. I had to dodge spring rain showers. This beach isnt used much except at the height of summer. I had been planning to shoot here for some time. I intend to do future shoots here. Wonderful place.

I was hoping to return to Cardinal Marsh today after work, but with the dark sky conditions and cold rain falling that plan didn't happen. So here's another view of the marsh from yesterday when this Canada goose couple was staking out a nesting territory near all those dense dead cattails due to be a green screening jungle later on this spring.

I was super excited to see these coyote pups while in Yellowstone. The den was in the distance, but I still came away with some ok photos. I also got to see both of the adults come back and interact with their pups.

I was out today looking for subjects in the yard, when I noted that the hoverflies were out, in the sun against a dark background. I had the long macro, but it _is_ a 200mm, also, so I started shooting. Although small in the frame, they were in focus, even with my manual focus.

Jan Hus was a Czech church reformer executed in 1415. His teachings had a profound influence on the history of the Czech nation.

Jan Hus’s contribution to the development of the Czech literary language was the introduction of diacritical marks, such as: č, š, ř, ž, á, í, é. The purpose of this innovation was representing each sound by only one symbol and eleminating digraphs (sounds represented by two letters).

The inscription on the monument reads “Milujte se, pravdy každému přejte”, which means more or less: “Love one another, wish the truth to everyone”. This is a shortened version of a quote from one of Hus’s letters from prison. The day of his execution, July 6th, is a public holiday in Czechia (Jan Hus Day).

Cleo was enjoying a peaceful time in the garden until the neighbour's dogs appeared at the fence. She is slightly hard of hearing now but she still hears barking dogs and I wondered why this look on her face didn't silence the noisy neighbours immediately. As they had several painful encounters with Cleo they would stop barking and disappear as soon as she approaches the fence, though.

This morning I was late to the dining room, everybody from my party were already seated when I arrived. I was ushered to a table at the far end of the dining room. I asked to be seated with my party, but this was not possible, I had to sit at the allocated table. Foolishly I pressed my argument, then it dawned on me, I was in some Chinese version of Fawlty Towers and this woman was Manuel in drag. It was pointless to argue.

The toaster worked, they provided soup bowls for the toast, a novel innovation I thought. The bacon was real and the eggs almost speedy.

Outside the day was misty. We took a bus to a wharf on the Li River for a scenic cruise past some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in China. Jennifer, our guide, said the mist would add soft light to our photos, so we should not be despondent.

The plan was to cruise 3½ hours through impressive gorges and tranquil farming villages to the town of Yangshou. There we'd explore the cobblestone streets, experience the local life and do some bargain shopping in the colourful markets before returning to Guilin by road in the late afternoon. It all sounded too good to be true, and so it was.

This photo was taken a short time after we left Guilin, the mountains were spectacular, this landscape on a sunny day would have been amazing.

It was great to see the pair of Black-shouldered Kites back in the Sneydes Rd area this morning. I observed them collecting nesting material again.

I will be back later to catch up - got to run for now.

Tiefblaues Wasser, das kann nur der Blautopf in Blaubeuren sein.

This was taken at a beautiful roadside viewpoint in Rondan in Norway. Unfortunately my enthusiasm for pressing the shutter button got the better of me and the need to get a sharp image had to take a back seat. I’ve always thought that perfection was overrated anyway, particularly when I’ve messed things up. It was just great to be able to take in such stunning scenery (EM120232)

Bastian was not happy, when a grey and white stranger hung around his garden the other day. He chased it away by showing, how huge he is....

He was having some problems staying off the road. I had to rescue him 3 times. There was also magpies and crows nearby. He is resting on the roof of a birdhouse, probably for the evening. I will check on him in the morning.

on this early summermorning i was searching for dragonflies on the wheat but when the sun came through i took a few without boring insects ;-)

Stiefmütterchen am Straßenrand

This was the first time I had seen and heard a Cheetah in real life-albeit at the zoo, and it was both mesmerising (the beauty) and surprising (the teeny tiny meow to come out of such a big cat!!).

A fight was brewing between the Rose Ringed Parakeets and the Spotted Owlets. The coconut trees in the area were dry and many of them were hollow with several hollows in them. One or two of those trees broke midway (during a storm probably) and had openings on the top which the Owls preferred to make nests.

Both of them fought and for the first time I saw a Parakeet attack an Owlet surprising me completely. But then the Owlets were juveniles and the mother kept the parakeets at bay. But soon the Mother went away to collect food and one of the Owlets followed it soon. After a while, the area become quiet after the Owlets snugged into the hollow.

Thanks so much in advance for your views, likes and feedback.

I was out on the nearby meadows again this morning. The windy weather made taking macro shots almost impossible and the flying grass pollen caused a terrible hay fever attack. I returned home rather quickly but it was lovely to see that the thistles on the meadows are beginning to flower and I hope that they will soon attract some butterflies. For now only a hoverfly was interested in the first buds.

Originally, I was looking for peacocks to photograph in Evora Garden but they were nowhere to be seen. Then this cat arrived to take a rest underneath a chair, away from sweltering heat on that day with the temperature exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Airlie Beach liegt an der Ostküste Australiens im Bundesstaat Queensland zwischen Cairns und Brisbane.

This was taken last year at the Western Treatment Plant when the was an abundance of Black Kites in the area. This tree has 13 sitting on its branches.

It was getting close to sunset and needless to say I was pretty damn excited to see this. The most I have ever seen at once.
