Winter is rapidly waning, and for me it wasn't a great winter for shooting. For the most part it was either too cold or too icy. It wasn't often pretty or conducive for good shooting -- not for me, I mean. This photo was actually from an early snowfall in November, but it's the kind of winter photo that I would have liked to have taken more of.

Took a walk with my Shetland Sheepdog this morning by the old farm. It was the first time there was an early chill in the air. I needed my jacket.

I don't shoot the moon very often, but I needed to test my vintage Nikkor 300mm f4.5 lens and I think it did a very nice job.

Usually the moon looks monochromatic but a few simple tweaks in LR bring out the colors.

Almost Last Quarter.

The last quarter Moon is the phase which is the least often seen by most of us - because it rises in the East after we’ve gone to bed and sets in the West during the morning daylight, when it isn’t obviously visible.

First clear sky in a long time. We were able to see the moon.

Abnehmender Mond

-------------------------------------------

I'm always fascinated by how smooth the surface looks when illuminated by the sun. The Moon's wrinkled face, etched by over 4 billion years of aging, only reveals itself when the shadows lengthen during the waning or waxing moon.

-------------------------------------------
