The moon relinquishes the sky to the sun.

Gray and gloomy day yesterday, but then at night the moon and stars gave a show. The area of the numerous craters bordering the shaded area was fantastic.

Luna gibbosa calante

New edit, memories

I always feel sad when winter makes her exit. This is a wire on some cattle fence shot on a walk in the morning. There's a simplistic beauty to winter that grabs at me.

Maybe of a moon of Mars! If Mars was green, of course :))

I want to thank so many of you for your lovely personal messages and kind comments while I was off.

The surgery was successful and I am on the road to recovery. All my fatigue is gone and I have energy again. Recovery for hyperparathyroidism (nothing to do with the thyroid) can take up to a year, but I'm already feeling so much better.

I will be posting on and off for a bit. I haven't gone out with my camera much yet, but took this image at the end of my driveway. I will try to come and visit you all over the next few days.

This is more a testament to the fact we had clear skies and good weather for SO long!!! In fact I got 4 more shots before the full moon as well!!

Waning Moon

Today's moon is 69.76% visible and is decreasing. There are 2 days until the last quarter phase.

Observe the sky, notice a Moon that is decreasing in size, decreasing, disappearing ....

For astrology, which studies the celestial symbolisms of the stars, this is a powerful moment to let that which no longer has purpose or meaning wane ...

So, let go ....

What goes, goes ...

To the young, summer seems almost endless and long days make time feel expansive.

By middle age however, the days of summer can blur into each other as June too quickly becomes September.

I would agree with the experts who say...." If you live a life where time goes fast,..........then this is a sign of a life that is both full and fulfilling."

The moon didn't show up in our sky on the Super Blue Blood Moon day. Clouds were so heavy.

Two days later, it finally popped out. So naughty. Still very bright.

Top-left part is already missing (on your moon, right-side starts shrinking, check it out tonight).

Moon behaves differently between North and South.

I am always fascinated.

Winter is rapidly waning, and for me it wasn't a great winter for shooting. For the most part it was either too cold or too icy. It wasn't often pretty or conducive for good shooting -- not for me, I mean. This photo was actually from an early snowfall in November, but it's the kind of winter photo that I would have liked to have taken more of.
