Gigia (30 yrs) running in her paddock in a very hot afternoon to get escape from the horse-flies.
The big tree is a walnut. At left it's a fig tree and a peach tree.
Trees between fields with yellow rapseed. It was a wonderful warm and sunny day brightened from the yellow from rapeseed and dandalions.

I'm holed up as a hermit in West Virginia this week. I have no internet, or anything else for that matter. I do have my camera though, so I'll have lots of photos when I return rejuvenated, revived, reinvigorated and re-...
I sneaked out to find some internet to slip these shots in. Now I'm back to the woods... so long...
Walnut Tree by The Little Branch is our new release for Shiny Shabby,
The Walnut Tree is one of the most valuable and beautiful of trees. This tree grows straight and tall with few lower branches and is a great shade tree. Walnut Trees produce fern-like foliage. In autumn, the leaves turn bright yellow, making a nice contrast with the tree’s rugged, dark bark. The wood from the tree can be turned into the most beautiful cabinets, furniture and so many other uses.
These 100% original mesh creations are highly detailed with realistic textures and animated foliage resulting in a true, life-like appearance. A choice of four seasons are readily available via an easy to use pop-up menu to keep your landscaping current. Owner permissions allow Copy & Modify to ensure that each item can be adapted to suit your unique needs.
Shiny Shabby runs from April 20th to May 15th
TAXI to Shiny Shabby
After the event you will find the products at The Little Branch In-World Store or on MarketPlace
Vor einer Woche hatten wir für wenige Stunden das Gefühl von Sommer... und sofort war ich auch schon mit dem Radel unterwegs... es war ein superschöner Ausflug... kaum zuhause, regnete es auch wieder... so war der Juli 2011!
Last week, one afternoon, I had a feeling of summer... and I took my bicycle and made a tour... it was wonderful! When I returned home... it was raining again... this was our July 2011!

This was the coldest morning since we arrived, with a frost warning for most of New England last night.
The morning light was amazing, and the fog took longer to burn off, and "awake" is having found only my sandals while walking around in the 45 degree dew. :~)
My neighbor's tree is great for birds summer or winter! This flock of doves is waiting for me to put out some seed.
Let there be spaces in your togetherness.
And let the winds of heaven dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love.
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but each one of you be
alone – even as the strings of a lute are alone though the quiver
with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not in each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the Cyprus grow not in each other’s shadows.
― Khalil Gibran, The Prophet
Today is the 45th birthday of my beloved wife, Laura, so I want to dedicate this shot to her.
I like how the two walnut trees stand at some distance, yet together (till the end, at least); and how the sun filtering through the foliage kisses the barks of both of them. And I feel that the mutual bond is conveyed by the ivy threads climbing the trunks.
This is another early morning shot from our countryside. There is an ancient farmstead, called simply "The Old One", dating back to the 17. century; in proximity of the farmstead a small plantation of walnut trees is still thriving and offers some green shade to the wanderer.
I have obtained this picture by blending an exposure bracketing [-1.3/0/+1.3 EV] by luminosity masks with the Gimp (EXIF data, as usual, refer to the "normal" exposure shot), then I added some final touches with Nik Color Efex Pro 4. Raw files processed with Darktable.

Focusing on birds in the garden this winter, I became fascinated with the strangely different garden my camera sees in the blurry background. Eventually I decided to follow my camera there... into this space only she can find ;-)

Plato, our little red-bellied woodpecker is sitting on the forks of a tree trying to decide if he should turn right or left.
Walnut tree. Leaves have already fallen off but these nuts are still hanging on. Sooner or later, these nuts will fall from the tree.
I think this might have been an early filling station or a store/cafe. There is a single door on the right under the canopy and a set of double doors on the far left....hmm....wish I knew what it was. Enjoyed seeing the Walnut trees.
This bird spent hours in our Walnut tree at the start of this year, then disappeared. Hope it returns to the Walnut tree soon, as it's so pretty to watch.
Thanks for the very nice comments.
Britney is an explorer. She climbs the tree in few seconds.
It must be a wonderful view up there :-)
She is answering the question of Richard Gere that is on the right bottom of the shot.
