I came across this Black Walnut tree on my travels recently, stopped for a shot between the rain showers.

Squirrels scatter these about. They also bury some without breaking them open. That being the reason there are a lot of walnut trees growing around here.

Something special for "my" squirrel. It took a while until it saw the walnut but then..sniff,sniff...weee..off it was!

An eastbound Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern train crosses a minimum maintenance road on a small trestle just west of Walnut Grove, MN. Just out of frame to the right, they'll cross Plum Creek, the locale for Little House on the Prairie, and climb a slight hill into town. The third unit is PNWR 3051. There's a chance it once traveled these rails long ago as it started life as a Chicago & North Western dynamic brake-less SD45 before being acquired by Kansas City Southern and rebuilt into an SD40-3.

Not a great setting, but I was surprised to see this beautiful moth land on one or our brick walls...
