High Tide (10.25m) at Knott End on Sea - 13:33hrs on Thursday 25 March 2017

It's where it all begins - head past the Torre to the river bed, cross the bridge and keep going inland, you will reach the old town as long as you keep the riverbed on your right side.

Tip: once you get past the main bus station you can't miss it - just dive in and explore!

The boat trip was included in the cost of our half day excursion and takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes for the round trip.

An interesting journey.

Azmak is the name in short of a short but deep stream which joins the sea in Akyaka and formed by springs extending about two miles from East to West. Its depth allows boats to ascend it for a considerable distance and the richness of its underwater fauna made it a favorite spot for daily boat tours around Akyaka and for scuba diving. The water is cold and slightly salty due its level course with the sea across the plain, but watercress and celery thrive in Azmak and restaurants along its course make the stream a symbol and an important point of attraction for Akyaka region.

The word "azmak", sometimes used to describe a river, means "running wild" in Turkish, in a reference to the stream's strong, rather than violent, current, especially in winter.

A cloudy start to the morning in #Salou #Spain promised a glorious day ahead.

An attractive #Cypriot restaurant near St Lazarus Church and Larnaca seafront.

Inside the buzzing Medina of Marrakech with a labyrinth of winding streets of souks (covered alleyways of shops) and in the more civilised and very French influenced city district of Gueliz and a magnificent railway station.

Our creative crochet/knitting person has treated us to a fine display once more.

We often visited the #VillaVenecia Hotel, #Benidom many years ago when we used to take All Inclusive #holidays with the #AmigosGroup which allowed their hotel residents to use the facilities in all of the hotels in the chain. The #views are spectacular and from the sofas inside, it feels like you are on a cruise ship!

Children from the local school on Pilling Lane were having a great time in the mud by Pilling Sands along the coastal footpath today as we took a bicycle ride from Knott End on Sea to the Golden Ball Pub via Pilling Lane, the coastal pathway and Fluke Hall Lane, then back again.

A grand day out - a little over 7 miles cycle ride. We treated ourselves to a cool, refreshing half of lager at the half way stage :-)

A different route today when we took our dog, Ruby out for a walk.... We headed to the end of Hackensall Road and through the woods via the footpath behind the houses on the left of the road. Some lovely bluebells were spotted as well as a number of fallen trees.

These steps are from the pathway where the planned track bed will go. They're situated by the side of a small stables and exit at Park Lane opposite Wyre Valley Eggs.

An Adventure Wellington Meet Up Group outing. Tim, a born-and-bred Wellingtonian showed a group of ten of us around and through the hidden lanes and some un-noticed parts of the city. We had a fabulous time seeing shops, buildings, alleys; learning some history and getting to know fellow group members. We had a fabulous lunch and finished with beers at the Southern Cross.

A sneaky photo grabbed by putting my hand inside a small gap in a wooden door.

A stunning Georgian terraced property, converted into a pub a few years ago.

History: The pub was opened in August 2022 by Rob Gutmann, an experienced local bar owner. The interior design uses reclaimed and antique products to create an authentic, old-world aesthetic (info: courtesy of Wikipedia.)
