Walking along the beach from the hotel to the area where locals cook, delicious fresh food. As it was sunset the beach was also filled with people just out for an evening stroll.
A lovely sunset at Coniston Water.
This image hides the fact that it was very breezy. A Lee 3 stop ND filter was used to lengthen the exposure time to smooth out the choppy water.
This has the added effect of bringing a touch of movement into the sky too.
The view ahead as one walks along Smith Rock's Crooked River urges one on to see the wonders that lie around each corner. Multiple memory cards are recommended.
I just returned from a camping trip to Idaho's Sawtooth mountains. The Sawtooths don't receive the attention of their neighbors, the Tetons, but are similar. Not quite as high as those iconic peaks, but there are many more peaks in the Sawtooths to admire.
Think I got some good shots.
Weather was challenging, as usual. Looking forward to processing and sharing the Sawtooths with you.
Hope your July is off to a wonderful start.
Here I'm shooting directly into the setting winter sun. The scene grabbed my attention immediately and I was able to shoot just as the young lady walked equidistant between the two trees on the pathway with the sun right above her. It is best to enlarge this one and look around.
Well it was our last full day in Madeira and I still hadn't been to the Fanal forest. It had been a sunny warm relaxing morning by the pool at the hotel in Funchal, so after a healthy lunch I suggested to Mrs T that we should just go and have a relaxing stroll through the woodland there! She agreed.
I had this vision of a quiet, high altitude, arboreal, peaceful haven in mind as we pulled into a rammed car park an hour later, full of people wandering around armed with selfie sticks and children in tow! Of course it was a Sunday, but I hadn't expected it to be this busy.
So after 40 minutes of trying to find spots without lovers posing amongst the fabulous trees or dangling from the low branches, getting that "social media influencers pose just right". We left with my expectations of Fanal completely shattered!
Luckily I did manage to wait my turn and get a few shots and miraculously just after we arrived the mist rolled in too! I left this walker in the shot, as it looks like the big tree character is following her down the slope!
I'm getting out a bit more now I've had my second vaccination and had to go the bank today.
