Curious Eurasian Brown bears (Ursus arctos), Suomussalmi, Finland.
Europe can be a crowded place in some parts. Humans need space to thrive and so do the wonders of nature that enrich our lives - such as these bears. WWF's focus is on minimising human/bear conflict, working with government authorities and local communities to ensure livestock is adequately protected and wild bear populations are managed effectively. In addition, some European nature parks provide a safe environment for brown bears to thrive and help local economies benefit from responsible ecotourism.

An approximately 10 year old female giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) walking on snow. The giant panda is perhaps the most powerful symbol in the world when it comes to species conservation.
In China, it is a national treasure, and for WWF the panda has a special significance since it has been the organization's symbol since 1961 when WWF was formed.
