Atlantic Walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) Nunavut, Canada.
There are 3 sub-species of walrus: the Pacific walrus (Odobenus rosmarus divergens), the Atlantic walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) and the Laptev walrus (Odobensus rosmarus laptevi), although the taxonomic status of the latter is uncertain.
Their most remarkable features are the long tusks which are surrounded by a mat of stiff bristles. The tusks are used for keeping breathing holes in the ice open, for fighting and for helping the walruses haul themselves out of the water on to an ice floe.
Once extensively hunted commercially in modern times, however, it is struggling to adapt to climate change.

A poster we made for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The theme is 'energy', so we made some funky animals with quotes about how they use their energy.
Featured for the very first time in an February, 2024 evening photo shoot, the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum's 3-stall roundhouse is fast becoming the centerpiece of the organization's Sheepscot Yard in the town of Alna, Maine. This facility, named for long-time museum volunteers Fred and Sharron Morse, has been under construction since the summer of 2021 and will ultimately house a planned fleet of three steam locomotives. Although the exterior of the structure was literally completed on the day when this photo was captured, quite a bit of additional work remained before the structure could be completely operational. That work would include the construction of smoke jacks in the ceiling, some additional interior finishing and the installation of a heating system. On this particular evening, with a photo shoot underway, the museum crew elected to bring its own operational Locomotive #9 into the house, along with the inoperable, Monson Locomotive #4, to give everyone just a taste of what things will look like in the not-too-distant future.
I worked with Skiprockcreative in Rome on some illustrations for an online WWF campaign. You can see it (only mediterranean countrys) on the WWF facebook page: www.facebook.com/WWF

Actual first two words in a game of WWF I'm playing with my mom. We also managed RUM and TREE before abandoning the attempt to stay on theme.
The Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum's Locomotive #10 blows for the private crossing at Maine Locomotive & Machine, as she takes two packed passenger coaches south to Sheepscot Station, during the 2009 Victorian Christmas event. It's the 3rd Saturday in December and the museum's passenger train is shuttling guests back and forth between Sheepscot and Alna Center, with lots of activities going on at both locations. At Sheepscot, there are displays, model trains, and hot beverages. At Alna Center, the kids can visit with Santa Claus and families can take sleigh rides in the snow-covered fields adjacent to the station area.
of course WWF does not mean World Wrestling Federation. Simply it means white wild flower.

Humans living in harmony with nature? Not possible? ..Wanna bet? ..what's more - it's our mission to make it happen. And we do:
Grasslands managed by the local Community Co-ordination Forest Committee (CFCC). The land was previously grazed on, leaving it barren and bereft of life. Through sustainable management the area has now been regenerated. The CFCC was established with the help of WWF and allows communities to manage their own forests/grasslands in both a more profitable and sustainable manner.
