I'd shot a few moon photos, my camera on a tripod. I was about to wrap-it-up when I noticed aircraft lights, coming from maybe a mile away. I see many flyovers (on approach to LAX - Los Angeles International Airport -- 20+ miles northwest of my home). I anticipated it might just fly between me and the moon. I quickly set-up for a 60-frame-per-second shot. My Nikon P510 took a 'burst' of 60 images, as the private jet approached, crossed the moon, then flew on -- only that pair of lights now visible in the night sky.
This image of the silhouetted private jet used about 20 of those images.... composited into one for the jet, the rest for the track of that pair of aircraft lights. This edit took about an hour, which I enjoyed putting together!
Timber from the nearby Manzano Mountains join shale, sandstone, and mud in the contruction of Mission San Griorio de Abó. Vigas, additional timbers that served as rafters, fit into the slots above the timbers laid into the wall. All were put in place by pueblo laborers under the direction of Franciscans.
Abó No. 7 in my Salinas Pueblo Missions album.
I thought the effect this window photo had looked like a picture framed oil painting on the wall.

After a marathon month of work, I took a few vacation days off around Thanksgiving to recharge. I drove around our county to see what I could find and was pleasantly surprised when I ran into the Jack London State Historic Park. For more information on this park you can go to jacklondonpark.com/index.html#.Upizt8RDsQ0 . This was also known as Jack London's "Beauty Ranch" at one time. Jack was a famous biographer and known for his books Call of the Wild (1903), The Sea Wolf (1904). His ranch, which was donated to California and made a historic landmark, is 1400 acres of rich farming land. There are pretty eccentric structures on this property like the Pig Palace - yes, he built a palace for pigs! I also walked through a shaded redwood grove with a flush green ferns and forest floor which led to a lake where the London's build a small log cabin. Now that I have discovered it I plan to return - there was so much to see and take in. I hope you like my photos from this park and it shares some of my experience there.
The aqueduct is twisted due to earthquake sequels.
Aqueduct that carried water to the Roman city of Baelo Claudia. ( Dates back to approx first century AD)
It started from the spring of Las Palomas, to the east of the Bolonia bay, and it seems that as it passed through the place called La Teja, it received the contribution of a nearby spring.
It provided a daily flow of six million liters.
It is possible to suppose that its waters were not dedicated, at least fundamentally, to human consumption, but to the salting industries.
This aqueduct coming from the source of Las Palomas rose over important arches at five points along its route.
The aqueduct covered about 550 m. from the source of Punta Paloma to the center of the old town and had a drop of 54 m.
The layout is practically parallel to the beach line.

The Elgin Bridge, a vehicular box girder bridge across the Singapore River, built between 1925 and 1929. The bridge links the Downtown Core to the Singapore River Planning Area located within Singapore’s Central Area. The bridge was named after James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin, a colonial administrator and diplomat who had served as Governor-General of Canada and India. This long exposure image shows a boat passing under the bridge during blue hour on August 18, 2023.
