"The more often we see the things around us - even the beautiful and wonderful things - the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds - even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less."

Joseph B. Wirthlin

Visiting the misty park at blue hour. What a spectacular experience. Hop you enjoy this one.

If it's just us, in the dark, then that is enough.

Because you are my world. <3

ENTRY for LUANES WORLD PHOTO CONTEST.

'Peace' said the dove, 'please heed my call

And follow wherever I fly,

Then the land shall be filled with the song of love

And no more shall have to die.'

'War! ' said the crow, 'don't listen to him

Let us feed on the dead on the ground,

For the song of love is a song unheard

Let us listen to the cries all around.'

'Fight! ' yelled the hawk with a deafening cry

'For they stole all our trees and our land,

And they ruined our world in which we live

With a cruel and uncaring hand.'

'No' said the thrush, 'for I long to hear

All the songs that we used to sing,

Before they were drowned by the battle's roar

Let us fly with the dove on the wing.'

'Yes' said the finch, 'I agree with you

Let the world hear our songs once more,

Let us sing now for peace just as loud as we can

In the hope we can end this war.'

So peace won the day and the birds did sing

Till the soldiers began to hear,

Then one by one they did lay down their arms

And the smoke then did slowly clear.

Is this the world we created, we made it on our own

Is this the world we devasted, right to the bone

If there's a God in the sky looking down

What can he think of what we've done

To the world that He created.

This Photo I shot today during a Nature Fotowalk with Metti. It`s a Try: I put it Upside down, just showing the Reflection in the Water. In the Sky Part you can find some Pieces of Ice (right upper Part). Or does it look more like a Painting??

Have Fun :-)!!

Long exposure from the coastline near Eiði on Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. I enjoy taking long exposure photos and I love the mood they can create. Here, I especially liked the difference between the smooth sea and clouds against the rugged textures of the cliffs.

World Giraffe Day was initiated to "celebrate the longest-necked animal on the longest day...". I am celebrating the summer solstice with a favorite Tanzania moment with these graceful, Masai giraffes. Due to habitat loss and poaching, their populations have been cut in half in recent decades. Find out more about from the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

Er is altijd elke dag wel iets of iemand die laat zien dat die wereld van ons veel te mooi is om te verpesten....

Everyday there is always something or someone who shows us that the world is too amazing to ruin ....

Tangled and twisted. From a memorable morning in Dartmoor.

Tips:

when you shoot the main subject, just think about adding a sub-subject.

Especially a famous building, in combination with other subjects makes your image deffercientt from others.

In this case, Shooting one world trade center(main subject) solely was too straightforward, so I shot under the facade of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.

"An' uneducated' person in the highlands of Papua New Guinea can recognize seventy species of birds by their songs. An 'illiterate' shama in the Amazon can identify hundreds of medicinal plants. An Aboriginal person from Australia carries in his memory a map of the land encoded in song that extends for a thousand miles. Our minds are evolved to contain vast amounts of information about the world that gave us birth, and to pass this information on easily from one generation to the next. But to know the world, you have to live in the world." - Carol Black

I am hearing reports of people flocking to our provincial parks this summer. Stores are reporting that they can not keep camping gear in stock. Rentals for tents, campers and trailers are way up. So many people want to spend time outdoors and "live in the world" naturally. This can be great. However, too many people are not doing it respectfully. The amount of litter and human waste that is being left in spaces that shouldn't be is appalling. They are not "living in the world". They are trampling it. Please get to know the world and how your actions affect all of us.
