A closer view towards the altar of the late renaissance Michaelskirche in Munich.
St, Michael was built from 1583 to 1597. It was massively damaged during an allied bomb raid in 1944 and reconstructed from 1946 to 1948.

So this is one of my favourite tree shots, taken at Blenheim Palace of all places. What a grand old tree, it looks so tree'ish!
I did post a horribly HDR'd version here way back 10 years ago but wanted to share it without the OTT HDR edit.

View of the medieval fortifications at Castiglione del Lago, which has a magnificent view over the Lake Trasimeno.
The fortress, Rocca del Leone (the Lion fortress) was first built in the first centuries of the 13th century, on orders from Frederick II, the Holy Roman Emperor. It was probably done by Elia da Cortona (also known as Elia da Assisi (he was born in Assisi and died at Cortona). Already in 1325 the fortification was renovated by Lorenzo Maitani (otherwise most known for his work on the cathedral in Orvieto). The tower here is the keep, a triangular structure, 39 metres high.

The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 17th of June is “the shape of water”, where I am permitted to photograph water in the form of a gas (steam), a solid (ice or snow) or liquid. This is a very challenging theme. Although it is winter where I live, it doesn’t snow here, so that leaves gas or liquid. I have opted for liquid. I have wanted to play with water and food dye and photograph it for a while. So, on a sunny day, I pulled out a crystal wine glass, filled it with water and added some red food dye! Voilà! It’s amazing how something that looks so effortless can sometimes take a great deal of work! The idea was great - the execution not so easy. I had to be quick, so within two shots after dropping a few drops of colouring into the glass, the whole glass was coloured. I think I did about ten or twelve glasses of water and this is the one I liked the most. I hope that you like my choice for the theme this week, and that it makes you smile.

La Laguna Colorada por su origen geológico, la naturaleza físico química de sus aguas de origen volcánico, la relación ecológica entre los seres vivos y su medio han conformado un ambiente único en el mundo.
La laguna al tener afluentes del río Sulor y numerosas vertientes termales de agua dulce, favorece al establecimiento de una diversidad biológica de fauna y flora asociados a las característicasdel agua.
Debido a las condiciones climáticas extremas, las plantas y animales, durante un largo ciclo evolutivo se han adaptado, desarrollando mecanismos propios que les permiten la supervivencia por esos se encuentran niveles altos de endemismos.
