I'm happy to present my second build for the Iron Forge, from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the famous scene of the Holy Grail. Choose wisely!

I was glad to see that the organizers chose the seed part wisely! It was a chalince to build, but I used the tap 15 times, for the torches, the swastika, the ashes, and of course the goblets!
Some wise man once said, your not stuck in traffic, you are traffic. So let's take the time to make it worth it.
It's not what you thought
when you first began it.
You got what you want.
Now you can hardly stand it, though,
by now you know, it's not going to stop.
It's not going to stop.
It's not going to stop
'til you wise up.
Aimee Mann Wise Up
Saggezza e buon senso si ottengono in tre modi:
primo con la riflessione, che è la cosa più nobile;
secondo attraverso l’imitazione, che è la cosa più semplice;
e terzo con l’esperienza, che è la cosa più amara di tutte.

Sony A9II +90mm f2.8 @ 1/320 f14 iso 320 + Godox TTL fill flash, hand held auto focus, one image @ 30 cm distance.
No need for tripod with this set up. 10 stops of image stabilisation lens 5 and camera 5, wasp kept moving other wise I could have shot at 1/100 shutter speed hand held- no wind. Auto focus on this camera is superior to manual focus despite all the experts saying use manual focus for single shot macro photography
A Westie and a Schnauzer dressed like two Wise Guys and wearing sunglasses and suits
Prompt: An artwork of two dogs, one is a West Highland White Terrier and the other dog is a salt and pepper Schnauzer, dressed as mafia gangsters in pinstripe suits with white shirts and ties, wearing fedora hats and sunglasses and smoking cigars, Westie ears are perked up, against a dark background,

Since the 1970’s, The Alan Parsons Project has been one of my favorite bands with one of their songs “Old and wise” being a personal favorite. With age, wisdom should occur…and for most it does. I always enjoy seeing wisdom in the animal kingdom, when experience has provided lessons learned, reflected in the flight-fight response…or lack of it. I am often reminded of my father saying “I’m too old for this shit” when the decision was made to hold his ground in the matter at hand.
Years ago, I was walking the sand roads of the Juniper Club in Central Florida when I spotted a Gopher Turtle up ahead in the road. Wanting to capture its image, I picked up my pace in its direction. Once noticed, the turtle quickly pivoted and started walking away in the opposite direction. I quickened my now awkward looking speed-walking pace a bit to close the gap.
To my surprise, it started running…I was surprised by its speed! I started jogging with side mounted lenses, water bottles and my spare camera flying in every direction. After a few minutes, I finally caught up with my prey, out of breath with my hands on my knees…we both looked pretty turtled-up as it peered out of its shell at me in fear. I backed away, it came out a bit, I took its picture and walked away.
Now fast forward to this fellow…who’s photo was taken on 13 October, 2023. A much larger, older and wiser turtle as when Rob spotted him up in the middle of the road ahead, he (or she as I do not intend to offend) had little to no noticeable reaction to two humans approaching. He posed perfectly…or as perfectly as a turtle can, and I captured this image. Rob and I then returned back on our way, leaving him be to go on his way.
The vast difference in reactions between the two turtles that I have photographed there makes me wonder if the wisdom in the second one is a reflection of other life experiences, or if it could be the same one from years ago…where we both have grown older and wiser…and “too old for this shit” to run!

A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?

As I sat on the pier at Bodega Harbor watching several Common Loons fishing I was struck by their elegant & serene beauty & how very 'wise' they appeared to me!
This one swam up very close to us as if questioning our reason for being there aiming cameras at it!

Today's story and sketch "by me" you see Slim Whipsum, the year is
1935 in Broken Drum Indiana. Slim is in the middle of the strangest
day of his life. Slim will never forget this day, and will have flash
backs of the day he spent with this very Wise Tree.
Slims day began like any other morning, he woke up showered
brushed his teeth, kissed his wife Malena goodbye, drove his new 1935
ford touring roadster to the Dimension Two Moon Pie Drive Thru, ordered
a cup of coffee and a Pecan Moon Pie, and as he was driving to his
job at Apes Electric, Slim bit into the moon pie and suddenly he was
no longer in Broken Drum but in another dimension, a strange and silent
haunting place next to a mumbling Spirit tree, that softly told Slim
he was in the place customers of the Dimension Two Moon Pie Shop
ended up when they forgot to tip Zooelda, the Gypsy Lady at the Drive
thru window, and that if he looked up he would see the Voodoo Doll Zooelda
made in his likeness with pins poking out of it, but he was lucky and
would only be here for 24 hours, soon he would be back in line at
Dimension two, and be sure not to forget to tip Zooelda or he could
become a Spirit Oak himself.
The Spirit Tree then explained to Slim he had committed the worst offence
a Gypsy Husband could do, he forgot Zooelda's birthday forty years ago
and was turned into a Spirit Oak. The two spent the next twenty four
hours talking about his 35 Ford and the annoying Flying Saucer that
kept buzzing overhead, and in the middle of a sentence Slim was back
third in line, digging in his wallet for a tenner, until next time
