~Mountain Wisdom~
I went digging through the archives last night and found a few images I had skipped over. This one I took in the early fall of last year that I took on a very early morning trip to the Mount Washington area. The mountains look even better with the slight color of the trees mixed with the pink of a gentle sunrise.

The dome at the base represents the entire world. When a person awakes (represented by eyes of wisdom and compassion) from the bonds of the world, the person reaches the state of enlightenment.

Wisdom is welcome wherever it comes from
Odin, an important Norse god, was said to have a burning desire and thirst for all knowledge. He even accepted slices of wisdom from his ravens.
Modern meaning: Never stop learning; always be open-minded and inquisitive.

"Uma árvore em flor fica despida no outono. A beleza transforma-se em feiúra, a juventude em velhice e o erro em virtude. Nada fica sempre igual e nada existe realmente. Portanto, as aparências e o vazio existem simultaneamente."

I wonder how long this oak tree has lived on the hillside.
I wonder what stories it would be able to tell, if only I had the sense to listen.
How many animals have encountered this tree over the years? birds, squirrels, gophers, coyotes, mountain lions, deer, turkeys, ...
I met this tree on a hike in the Ohlone Regional Wilderness, on the way up to Mission Peak.

St Dominic was a dispenser of the waters of wisdom. "Where shall wisdom be found? Whence comes it?" The question "What is wisdom?" is one that has challenged great minds in every age, and we can learn from them something of the nature of wisdom and St Dominic.
There is more to human living that food and drink; "Man does not live by bread alone," as Christ once said...
It may be safely assumed that St Dominic did not know much about the natural sciences; in those days, few people did, and what they knew was elementary. The hour of natural science had not yet struck. But Dominic was outstanding in the other two departments of wisdom: He was a sound, clear-headed theologian, and at the same time sensitive and docile to the Holy Spirit... How refreshing to see a saint like Dominic, a man marked by breadth of vision and by a total lack of narrow-mindedness. How heartening to see his calm acceptance and evaluation of facts, and his judicious, far-sighted adaptation of them, always keeping his goal in view. One does not picture him as a prisoner of the immediate present, although he lived in it; nor as a man harried and worried by a sea of complications and details. Decision, clarity, effectiveness attended him. Looking back, we can see that his solution was so perfect that it betrays something of the divine wisdom that inspired it. Dominic was a wise, wise man."

MEDITATION
“…WISDOM is a person who “can do all things,” and who, “passing into holy souls from age to age . . . produces friends of God and prophets” (7:27). That sounds a lot like the Holy Spirit, doesn’t it? The truth is, what this ancient writer called “WISDOM,” we now understand to be God Himself dwelling in us through the Holy Spirit…
“…WISDOM doesn’t just come from God—WISDOM IS GOD always working to transform us and to mold us into His image. The Spirit teaches you and purifies you in so many ways, whether it’s through a Scripture reading that speaks to you, through the grace to handle a difficult situation, or through the example of saints in heaven and on earth. You can know and develop a relationship with this divine WISDOM, who is God Himself!…”

PRAYER
"Lord Jesus, You are the only foundation that can hold us up when trials and disaster threaten us. Give me the WISDOM, Foresight, and Strength of character I need to do what is Right and Good and to reject whatever is false and contrary to Your will. May I be a Doer of Your word and not a hearer only." ~ www.dailyscripture.net

"I prayed, and understanding was given me;
I entreated, and the spirit of Wisdom came to me.
I esteemed her more than sceptres and thrones;
compared with her, I held riches as nothing.
I reckoned no priceless stone to be her peer,
for compared with her, all gold is a pinch of sand,
and beside her silver ranks as mud.
I loved her more than health or beauty,
preferred her to the light,
since her radiance never sleeps.
In her company all good things came to me,
at her hands riches not to be numbered."

If I were in charge of these group names, I'd say a “wisdom” of elephants. But that's not it. Anyone know, anyone? Bueller? Yes, a “parade” of elephants is the right answer. Not bad, not bad, group-namers.
This photo was taken in Namibia, where it is quite hard to find elephants compared to Botswana. We drove around for hours trying to find a parade, and finally, we spotted this guy through the trees.

Today I got my wisdom teeth taken out...or did they turn into Zombie teeth and leave while I was sleeping?
Spring is very late arriving in the UK this year. This guy has been sitting patiently in our garden over the winter, and today he's finally experiencing the warmth of the sun and the new growth of plants around him.
An alternate composition for the tea bag message. I feel like this image is more joyful but I still prefer the original that I posted.
I think we should all hide little notes like this around to brighten other people's day.
The theme for Macro Mondays is Wisdom, a topic that had me completely stumped until I remembered I hadn't thrown out the wisdom tooth that I'd had pulled about a year ago.....
