I stood beneath this giant and looked up — and for a moment, I felt small in the best possible way. There was something grounding about its strength, the twists in its limbs like old wisdom reaching toward the sky. It reminded me to stay rooted but still stretch, to hold steady and grow anyway. Funny how a tree can say what words often can't.

If only I knew what it said on each of them.

You can't help but smile and be delighted when finding an Owl. Their gaze speaks volumes. I keep hoping growing older makes me as wise as an owl :)

Its ensnaring beauty
"The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mat. 20:28
Jesus did not come to amass earthly treasures, but to
bestow heavenly ones. His great and heavenly soul
neglected and despised those things, that too many
of His own people too much admire and live for. He
spent not an anxious thought about those things that
eat up thousands and ten thousands of our thoughts.
Indeed He came to be humbled, and to teach men
by His example the vanity of this world, and pour
contempt upon its ensnaring beauty.

Looking back, I guess we all review at this time in the hope of improving our lot next year. This was taken January 2013. It seems like a forever ago but serves as a warning to prepare for a tough winter ahead.
I woke up today feeling a bit older and a lot wiser. Yes..I’m
still wearing the Maxwell skin. I love how it looks and will wear it a lot in the upcoming days, weeks, months. Call me grandpa if ya will…but I’m still kick ass.
I am not normally into anything Star Wars beyond the original trilogy, but when I saw this animated Yoda on the shelves, I knew I had to shoot him.

In 1989 our son was backpacking through Europe and happened to be in Berlin as the wall began to come down. The wisdom? In his recognizing that a dirty lump of cement had historic value, and more broadly in Reagan's "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall".
When you close your eyes and go deep into your thoughts you can make the circles of wisdom come true
Years ago, we saw on a weekend hut in Dolomites a plate with amusing inscription. Then I learned that it originates from Ascoli Piceno, from the year 1529. This June we visited the place. The inscription above the door says:
CHI PO NON VO,
CHI VO NON PO,
CHI SA NON FA,
CHI FA NON SA,
ET COSI
IL MONDO MAL VA.
A rough translation into English would be:
Those who can don't want to,
those who want to can't,
those who know don't do,
those who do don't know,
and so
the world goes wrong.
You can amuse yourself translating it into your language.
In Slovenian it would be:
Kdor more, noče,
kdor hoče, ne more,
kdor zna, ne naredi,
kdor naredi, ne zna
in tako
gre svet narobe.
