Non mi importa delle raffiche del vento e dei colpi dell'onda, ciò è molto meglio che passeggiare oziosi in un giardino.

I don't care about the gusts of wind and the blows of the wave, this is much better than idle strolling in a garden.

The Minden area (Northwest Germany) is full of old mills (wind, water, horse, oil) maintained by volunteers and private owners. Whit Monday is traditionally the day when most of the more than 40 mills are open to the public. This year we took the windmill of Eickhorst and the river mill in Minden city for a visit.
I sit here by myself
And you know I love it
You know I don't want someone
To come pay a visit
I want to be by myself
I came in this world alone
Me myself I

Death Valley, California, USA
Death Valley National Park is one of many units within the National Park service established because of its underlying geologic theme. Death Valley NP is renowned world-wide for its exposed, complex, unique tectonics and diverse geologic resources. Contained within its boundaries is a diverse rock record stretching throughout most of geologic time. From 1.8 billion-year-old metamorphic rocks exposed in the Black mountains, to recent playa sediments deposited in the valley basins, Death Valley possesses a superb geologic record. Paramount to understanding Death Valley’s geology is realizing that it is an ongoing dynamic process. Wind, water, and plate tectonics are still hard at work shaping the park on a day-to-day basis.
Death Valley is currently building a rock collection of the park’s stratigraphy. The following list of geologic formations and corresponding ages represents what has been collected in the park and are available for viewing at our curatorial facility. 41 formations are listed with a number correlating them to the original reference used to describe and locate them. Based on research, 61 formations are known to exist in the park. Those missing 20 formations have not yet been added to our Stratigraphy Collection. It should be noted that 3 formations have been given unofficial names: Warm Spring Granite, Skidoo Granite, and Strozzi’s Ranch Rhyolite.
This river floods and flows towards a large rapids. Together they roar with tremendous force. There are only few colors in nature in early spring in Finland, so the color of the water is dazzling.

"Wind, Water, Stone"
The water pierces the stone, the wind disperses the water, the stone stops the wind.
Water, wind, stone.
The wind carves the stone the stone is the cup of water, the water escapes and it is wind.
Stone, wind, water.
The wind in its turns sings, the water as it walks murmurs, the motionless stone is silent.
Wind, water, stone.
One is another and is none: between their empty names pass and fade water, stone, wind.
Millions of years of wind, water and sand have created these rock formations. Indirect light in the late morning conjure up a picture of the colorful sandstone with many color gradations.

I jumped out of the car to take this photo in poring rain and high winds - water droplets got to the lens - but I had to have a photo of a Routemaster!

It's been stormy in parts of the country in recent weeks, but not down here. So here's one from a couple of years ago when Storm Dennis hit Porthcawl on the South wales coast.

I didn’t want to do it… that is, put on my mask, stand in line for a bus ticket, then ride the crowded bus (accompanied by my tripod and camera gear) up to the Maroon Bells. But, at the Mrs. urging, I manned-up (is that politically correct) and made the trek to the Bells…. so glad I did : )
A reflective lake and two giant snow-striped mountaintops, named Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, anchor a blissful panorama exemplified by a symphony of color that changes with the seasons.
More than 300 million years of geologic activity, including sedimentation, uplift and erosion by wind, water and ice, are credited to the creation of Maroon Valley. According to the U.S. Forest Service, the mountains received their distinctive maroon coloring from the weathering of hematite, an iron-bearing mineral, while Maroon Lake occupies a basin that was sculpted by Ice-Age glaciers.

The knee-saddle on Amrum is an ever-changing living medium of an incomprehensible expanse, a desert in the North Sea. There are not two hours in which the knee-joint remains unchanged. Wind, water, sun and rain always leave their mark. A place for meditation and reflection.

The Maroon Bells, Colorado:
Located in a glacial valley, the 14,000-foot bell-shaped peaks truly capture the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Anchored by a stunning reflective lake, Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak tower over the area, creating an oasis of natural wonder.
