The Boleyn Ground, home of West Ham United - The Hammers.

This is the West Stand, taken from Green Street. They will be here till 2016, after that The Hammers will be moving into the Olympic stadium four miles away.

West Ham United 1-2 Leicester City (15/8/15)

I took a walk along the river to Stevington with the idea of taking some photos of the mill with snow lying on the ground. The nearer I got the thicker the fog and mist became, and the snowfall had not been as heavy here. Usually visible from the passing road I had to make my way across the field before it came into view.

Even here as I approached from the field the mill was only visible through the mist, while the closer tree was much clearer. Yesterday's post showed them a few hundred yards back along the path, but I wondered if it would work better with the clearer tree on the left instead of the mist obscured mill.

The image has been processed in black and white to help bring out the contrast in an image that had little colour anyway.

With giant hammer, borrowed of a fellow supporter walking along Wembley Way.

four season ticket holders from sweden and MOTM mark noble, they don't get to all home games as it's too expensive. they were very happy after the game especially when I told them about the hipster bars in hackney wick, they literally ran towards stour space (nb: stour is the base for the west ham supporters club)

I took a walk along the river to Stevington with the idea of taking some photos of the mill with snow lying on the ground. The heavy mist that descended as I walked made any background disappear so the shot here is purely the mill.

Although I knew that there would be no interesting background to the image I wanted to try a few different compositions where I could fill the frame with the windmill in the foreground and then, at a later date, have some star trails in the sky behind. This is almost the same as my previous upload, except for the rotation of the camera to portrait.

More hockey from the Five Counties Hockey League premier division match between Bedford Hockey Club ladies second XI and Saffron Walden Hockey Club ladies seconds.

I rarely switch to landscape to get goalmouth action, mostly as it happens so quickly to release the lens collar and swivel it round takes too much time. On this occasion it was worth it as I managed to capture Charlotte (centre) sweeping the ball into the net for a goal. The game finished in a rather one sided 9-0 (this obvioulsy being one of them) victory for Bedford.

On a bright, crisp, November morning with the sun out I was able to use ISO 100 and set the camera up in manual mode to avoid inconsistent metering by the camera.

at west ham I see diversity of nationality, class, gender, ethnicity, age, religion, locality, etc yet I feel a deep sense of "belonging". fans suspend the stress of life for 90mins & when west ham beat man utd there's an enormous wave of collective joy, football unites us.

Monday night football at Upton Park. The drinking hole for West Ham fans, The Boleyn, is in the background. David Sullivan, co-owner of West Ham United, being chauffeured in his red Rolls Royce Phantom, in the foreground.

OK, to start with I should wish Beth a happy birthday today.

Today we start another batch of hockey photos from the Five Counties Hockey League premier division match between Bedford Hockey Club ladies second XI and Saffron Walden Hockey Club ladies seconds.

This is of Charlotte, making a slide rule pass towards a team-mate in a more attacking position. The game finished in a rather one sided 9-0 victory for Bedford.

Shot the same morning as yesterday's image, this is Stevington Mill. This is the same post mill that was seen earlier in my photostream at sunset.

I liked the way the clouds looked dark and menacing but the sunlight lit the field with a great colour.

After taking yesterday's image Hustle & Bustle, I wandered along the length of the barrier to take a shot from the other end. Again it shows that huge interior of the station but this time includes the Olympic rings, statue and clock. Even from this position I couldn't get the clock inside the red ring that I'd wanted when shooting Olympic Time.

As before I wanted movement in the people to make them less defined and show them hurrying about. Still in amongst these people are the young lady chatting to an older man (on the right hand side now) and a lady on the left leaning against a pillar who can be seen more clearly from this position.

Once again to get the one second exposure I set the 10 second timer and balanced by camera carefully on the barrier. There was a long drop below and the barrier was only about an inch wide and with no strap on the camera my heart was in my mouth a bit.

Here's the next image in my batch of hockey shots, this time from the Five Counties Hockey League premier division match between Bedford Hockey Club ladies second XI and Bishops Stortford Hockey Club ladies seconds.

This is Steph, challenging for the ball with an opponent. The game finished in a close fought 2-0 victory for Bedford.

On a freezing cold January morning with the sun out I was able to use ISO 100. I set the camera up in manual mode to avoid inconsistent metering by the camera but due to light cloud cover did have to alter the shutter speed from time to time.

This is the Bobby Moore Stand.

First things first - happy 10th birthday to Henry today.

Here is the seventh of a batch of nine shots from the Five Counties Hockey League premier division match between Bedford Hockey Club ladies second XI and Broxbourne Hockey Club ladies seconds.

Once again this is Laura, dribbling down the wing with her opponent in her wake. The game finished in a rather one sided 11-1 victory for Bedford.
