When life overwhelms us with its demands and problems, we can find moments of tranquility and happiness in nature. Looking at a beautiful landscape we realise that happiness lies in simple pleasures.
~When all the dust is settled
and all the crowds are gone,
the things that matter are
faith, family, and friends.

Week2: Hello from . . . New Jersey
When you have confidence you shall drink the bitter tea.
The best tea leaves are the ones you gather yourself.... Far more flavorful than store bought tea leaves.... Robust and deep natured... Along with the act of searching and picking your own leaves this self guided meditation brings deep Zen to the experience....
This ferris wheel is known under the name" Wheel of Vision" and is a 55 meter high mobile ferris wheel.
The "Wheel of Vision" is equipped with 42 gondolas, each with space for 8 people. The gondolas are completely closed and also heated.
It has been standing at Burgplatz Düsseldorf since October 17, 2020, but since then it has not even turned to transport guests because of the corona virus.

When everything appears dark, when hope is far away, in a moment inside a seemingly useless shot you realize that nature loves you.
small little flowers appear in the snow...
It's the dawn of the year, February...
The silver and white winter will soon leave and spring colours will return...
Can you feel the sky, and let your soul and spirit fly?

it gives you a real image. I believe photography is about real life. I hate being in the studio and setting things up. To get an image of real life you have to be part of it. You can't be a photographer standing there with a camera. As soon as you do that everyone starts posing or behaving in a different way. The Lomo is perfect for taking pictures without interrupting the flow of life :-)

When the ev'nin' train goes by
I heard that lonesome whistle blow"

When out for a bike ride last week I was delighted to see that a local farmer had planted a wildflower mix in the set-aside adjacent to his wheat crop.
Actually it was double delight since the only poppies that I had seen up to this point were some mega-sized cultivated ones in the sand dunes at Alnmouth which don't count as wildflowers in my book!

"You keep shining in the melody that flows...
Hold your hands together and dance in the light...
Keep in me so I don't get lost, stay with me...
You are my light"
(Hyunsik, from Moonlight, eng. translation)
When it comes to vast landscapes the most amazing views I've seen are in Denali National Park in Alaska. It's almost incomprehensible how big the land is here. As I stood there with my camera I felt like a small atom on a much larger organism. In fact, I was. Views like this kind of put things into perspective.
This area of Denali is known as Kodachrome pass.

Vacationing on a ship when it suddenly started raining is probably not what we dreamed of. But it is indeed romantic and on a hot morning in the rain for me it is the first time and we were not hindered thanks to the excellent visibility underwater.
that we do not see the ones which open for us :-)

The entrance to the library at St. Ignatius College Preparatory School founded in 1869 in Chicago's near west side. Taken during Chicago Open House 2021. My high school library certainly did not look like this.
This shot was taken when I was out strolling around in the nearby nature reserve of "Norra Järvafältet". I was looking for a single tree located in a grassy field so I could take a "frosty, foggy" shot later this year. I didn´t found exactly what I was looking for but I found this tree and decided I should try to find some good compositions. The tree's branches form a bit of a "mushroom hat" and are fairly symmetric. I will go back in the autumn and see how the scene changes and what colors that bring. This image is processed to be on the warm side, with saturated colors and "golden" glow to it.
This shot was taken with my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 24-105mm f4.0 art lens.

I actually photographed this fence for the first time in April 2010 for one of my first ever Fence Fridays. See that picture here.
Happy Fence Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. :)
