A billboard at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 42nd St. just outside of Times Square. There was something about the red truck and the girl that struck me as the photo to post of the ones I took. And I’ve always loved the question “what if?”

Top left there is the sea. =)

Pushed in before.

When my grandfather left Ireland in 1890, the little farm was given to his uncle Patrick - one of the few members of the family who didn't emigrate. The old building still stands, though it doesn't look quite as picturesque as this.

"If fortune it ever should favour me

Or I to have money in store

I'll come back and I'll wed the wee lassie I left

On Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore"

Spoiler alert: This is exactly what he did....

Fuji X-E3. What do I do if my "oceanic feeling" won't go away? Will I deny it access to my thinking? Will I say that this is just a survival of a piece of early infantile emotion. Alternatively, will I grant this feeling access to my world and even celebrate it as a way to find union with transcendence, the cosmos from its beginning to its end? You know what? I refuse to decide. This is not an either-or-decision. Both approaches are alive and kicking within me. Deciding this matter is way above me.

What better to do on a cold wintry rainy day ... have some fun with this week's Monday Macro theme of abstract "What Is That"

Clue ... This strong material has a main use ... but then is great for using in many other situations.

More fun macros to follow :)

What looks likely to be my last sunny shot of 2021 saw me finally get the Construction livery 66. Even though that day was the first time I saw it since it got painted. 66793 seen passing Kirby Bellars with the 6M60 1107 Whitemoor yard - Mountsorrel sidings 10/12/21. (Taken using a pole)

While everyone was fascinated by some peacocks that came by close, I looked up and saw this interested fellow. He was looking down on the tourists beneath him. Deep in my devilish mind I hoped for a little funny accident - if you know what I mean.

Shot on the wonderful Castelo de São Jorge in Lisbon Portugal.

I met a professor who used elaborate gear to take gigapixel composites of flat concrete surfaces, with texture but without perspective. Intentional wordplay on “concrete” and “abstract”. A how-to book from a local library said the essential challenge in abstraction was division of the plane. This guy I just googled,

thevirtualinstructor.com/blog/abstract-non-objective-art

distinguishes Representational (realistic), Abstract (distorting reality), and Non-Objective (devoid of reality). Maybe Hilla Rebay would agree.

Quick post, but I feel that less is more with this dress. It holds it's own. Enjoy dolls!

Taken for the Crazy Tuesday theme of Guess What it is. I am not tagging what it is but will do so later on in the evening!

Taken at the waters edge in Vancouver when we shot the city skyline. I was captured by the contrasts and tones of the wood, the barnacles, and the sun catching the pylons, with a view through to the distant reflections.

Female cardinal looking at her Thanksgiving treat I made up of lard, peanut butter and seeds. She loved it!

A leaf, a feather or perhaps the eye of a Tawny Frogmouth? It's all subjective
