This isn't even slightly New Years related, but I felt like it was obligatory to post a picture today... tonight... whatever.
I'd really love to focus less on taking quick, uninteresting pictures and actually get some of my character's stories out there, which is something I've talked about doing for a while now... Which means I should probably frigging do it. We'll see how this goes.

I want to thank you for all the beautiful and interesting photographs you posted.
Whatever you celebrate or how, this year will be different and often difficult, having to miss loved ones on important days in your calendar.
However nowadays we have so may ways of seeing and speaking to each other!
I remember, how years ago, I used to sigh and say, OH how I wish I could see you.... And now : WE CAN.
Of course it is by far not the same as pressing a dear family member in your arms, however, it is a good and sweet solution.
Take heart, try to smile a little more maybe, it can make you feel better and infect others.

The mist and clouds on our first day on Monhegan Island, Maine, didn't stop us from walking one of the trails. I think the mist adds a little "mist-eriousness" to the scenes!
In Vermont there is a season which takes place after the last of the leaves have fallen and before the first snowflakes come down. It is called Stick Season. It's a time to rake the up the leaves, stack the firewood, cut back whatever is left in the garden and get ready for shorter colder days.

Largely unnoticed (despite very large size) public space decorative art - but it probably works on a subliminal level. Life is sure better with colours :)
