This happened almost too fast for me to get a shot. The male stopped his dance and jumped on top of the female and commenced mating. His weight pushed her completely under the water. Next thing I knew, they both were out of sight under the water. Buffleheads are diving ducks but I don't know if they actually mate underwater. Maybe. When they came back up, at least 30 seconds later, they were much further away from me and constantly diving so the show seemed to be over.

Garota marca-texto, mto prazer! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

O Wham! Pow! é um laranjão flúor avermelhado, mega aceso! Fiquei morrendo de vontade de ter o meu qdo a Dna. Kelly postou ele no blog.

Seja como for, eu achei o Wham!

One of the kids fireworks at the "correfoc of the Petits Diables" (childrens parade of the fire devils) at the Saint Laia celebration in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain).

Children dress up as 'devils' complete with red horns and a plastic faceguard, light their fireworks, held at the end of a long stick, then, when lit, wave them around as the fireworks spin in cirecles creating the effect seen here.

The fire parade is part of the Festes de Santa Eulàlia, one of the city's biggest festivals for children. The festival of La Laia is celebrated in Ciutat Vella and throughout Barcelona from 8 to 13 February.

Miami Beach Scene Double Exposure

In 1992, when I was shooting with my Olympus AZ300, I was aware I didn't have a very wide angle lens. But I remembered that NASA made mosaics of moons and planets by sticking together lots of smaller photographs. So for my visit to Meteor Crater in Arizona, that's what I tried. Only four exposures, because film was expensive, and I had only so many rolls with me to last me the holiday. Since then, every once in a while I took the prints out of my album and laid them on the table to make the panoramic view but never got around to doing it automagically in Photoshop, until now. And it jolly well works, doesn't it?

For the pixel peepers, I filled in a little bit of the sky top-right, and invented the greenish rocks on the bottom-left, because the original mosaic was only approximate.

While it's a decent artificial wide angle view, it doesn't quite capture the immensity of it. This sucker is three-quarters of a mile in diameter, 150 metres deep, and creates its own weather.

Hurricane Dorian waves on Long Island

This is one of the extremely violent explosions from the growing "Laghetto" cone on Etna's south flank, which we had the privilege to observe at relatively close range on 28 July 2001. This was the day when the activity at the numerous vents of the July-August 2001 eruption was at its peak, and among them, the "Laghetto" cone was the most intensely and spectacularly active. Over many hours of observation on the afternoon and evening of 28 July 2001, we had the chance to see how the activity alternated between relatively short phases of nearly noiseless phreatomagmatic activity (when some groundwater gained access to the magma in the conduit) and powerful, tremendously loud magmatic explosions. These explosions, whose detonations could be heard tens of kilometers away, occurred every few minutes, and each one launched thousands of grapefruit- to truck-sized volcanic bombs hundreds of meters into the air, often forming broad, fan-shaped jets indicating that the explosions were extremely shallow (deeper explosions would produce narrower jets at steeper angles).

The photo was taken from a distance of about 1.5 km to the southwest of the active cone with a Canon AE1, and scanned from original Ektachrome color slide
