Wembley today (13/05/2023) for the National League Play-off Final between Chesterfield and Notts County. Around 120 coaches came down the M1 for this match which Notts County eventually won on penalties to earn themselves promotion to League 2.
I visited Wembley for both the Sheffield Wednesday vs Barnsley League One Play Off Final in late May 2023 and again a week later for the FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Manchester United. Both events produced around 250 coaches each so It proved a good haul to end the season!

90002 Wolf of Badenoch crawls past the gallery at Chelmscote, working 1Z86 09.50 Liverpool Lime Street - Wembley Central. This was a football special for the Carabao (League) Cup Final between Liverpool and Chelsea, which Liverpool won after a penalty shoot-out.
47810 is on the rear, having worked the empty stock from Crewe to Liverpool. It then hauled the return working (with 90002 dead on rear). The train had apparently originally been booked to be worked by 47501 and 47810, but it was reported that 47501 had failed and had to be replaced, resulting in the empty stock arriving half an hour late at Lime Street - with the train to London setting off twenty minutes late. However, this was all made up by the time the train was speeding south from Crewe, and it was nearly quarter of an hour early as it passed Nuneaton.
1Z86 was booked to cross over to the Up Slow at Hanslope Jn., but remained on the Up Fast and ended up very close behind two Avanti West Coast "Pendolinos" which had caught up a London Northwestern service which was eight minutes late and called at Leighton Buzzard... So 90002 came round the corner very slowly, allowing a long burst of shots to be taken.
Of the best frames, none were perfect in terms of the relative positions of the locos, the OHL stanchions and the shadows of the OHL gantries! In this frame, the shadow is between the first two coaches, but the rear loco is partly obscured by an OHL stanchion. In an earlier frame, before 90002 gets to the OHL stanchion on the far side (and with the green 47 completely visible), the shadow is quite noticeable on the front coach; in the frame with the shadow between the loco and first coach, there's a relay cabinet growing out of the far buffer of the 90!
This was the first time I'd seen either of the Locomotive Services class 90s since their transfer from Greater Anglia (and, indeed, the first time I'd seen any of the LSL electric fleet).

It's always a good day out watching the coaches arrive at Wembley, especially when the less regular teams from outside the London area play.
If you haven't been since Covid then you'll be in for a shock! The new Pink and Green dedicated coach parks are almost entirely undercover which makes photography a challenge. Nevertheless, decent shots can still be obtained with good planning.

This was our first proper sighting of London, after leaving the Underground train. It was an easy no change route from Waterloo on the Jubilee Line but oh, how noisy was it! I know the Tube is noisy, but this was another ghostly level! It screeched and wailed and JJ and I covered our ears at one stage! The funny thing is, I googled the noise and this title came up, "Most Googled: why does the Jubilee line make that noise?" Back to Wembley, JJ and I were off to see Sigrid at the Ovo Arena (formerly SSE). We had booked to see her in March, close to JJ's birthday, but a lot of events back then were postponed. Knowing I wouldn't want to rush for the last train home, I booked a night in the nearest Premier Inn, which was perfect as it was a five minute walk away from the venue. The nearest tube station was Wembley Park and we caught sight of Wembley Stadium for the first time.

The train consists of a DM+NDM of the train A (red) and the full 4-cars of train C (green). It is passing a train of 1972 stock.
Both of the red and green stock were built by Metro-Cammell, whilst train B (blue) was built by BREL.

This looks like a holiday snap from India but it's actually a hindu temple in north London that I stumbled across last night. I managed to have a quick look around before it closed and the inside is very impressive although no photography allowed so you'll just have to take my word for it :-) While I was photographing it from the street, some guy told me there was another (even more impressive) temple in Neasden which I'll have to check out some time soon.
Saturday 16th April 2022 saw Liverpool play Manchester City in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. With the West Coast Main Line affected by engineering works, it was bound to produce a good selection of coaches with around 250 turning up. I noted 22 different coach body manufacturers to give plenty of variety to the day.
