I decided to walk down the jetty on Wednesday morning. It was such a beautiful day, very quiet and these cute little birds were just flying around every tweeting madly. The seemed to settle on the post of the enclosed swimming area.

Wednesday 31 May 2023, saw the latest batch of new officers join the Greater Manchester Police family.

They officially became police officers a ceremony at the force's Sedgley Park Centre.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes was on hand to welcome the new officers as they took the Police Oath in front of officiating magistrate Joan Cooper JP.

You should call 101, the national non-emergency number, to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.

Always call 999 in an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, violence is being used or threatened or where there is danger to life.
