For Macro Mondays theme 'Mesh'.

On this foggy morning, there were many spiders webs everywhere! Perhaps they are always there, but today they were highlighted in the fog, with outlines of beaded droplets.

Mainly, spiders construct webs to trap potential victims, for food and predation. I suppose that spider's webs are like the worldwide web.

Lots of webs in the garden at the moment, but precious few spiders. They're probably all behind me...

the spider who has built the giant web across

our patio door, has given up her web design

practice, too cold and windy, but she still is

hanging around on the frame. Today I took a

few portraits of her with my phone. They were

pretty blah so I decided to solarize them.

Right now we are experiencing heavy rainfall,

Ross had to bring out the pump to keep the patio

from flooding, so the patio door was opened

many times, but she is hunkered down on

the window frame, out of harm's way.

Frosty spiders web on the railings by the wier at Etherow Country park, a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure what the spiders thought of Jack Frost's enhancements to their webs!
