The fence is not quite original -- it also had a moat and barbed wire on the ground next to the moat.

Citizens of the town of Dachau turned a blind eye and believed the Nazi propaganda saying that Dachau was just a waystation where prisoners were treated humanely. Lina Rifai, associate professor of vertebrate biology at IU Kokomo, leads students on a research project studying monarch butterflies. Rifai helped IU Kokomo earn a certificate and designation as a “Monarch Waystation.”

IU Kokomo’s campus now “provides critical resources for monarchs throughout their annual cycle of reproduction and migration and supports other pollinators and wildlife.”

I've been trying to get a shot of Bianca for a long time now. For some reason, she sat and posed for me last night. Usually she dashes about her enclosure or tries to grab me and the camera.

Greenville, CA. Interesting characters in there; miners, Indians, perhaps ranchers. We had a drink in there before the Friday night crowd really showed up, however.

My name is Daniel Bravo, I am 10 years old. I am going to 5th grade and attend Mater Academy Elementary school in Miami Florida. My project is called The Florida Monarch Project. I have been raising Monarch Butterflies with my mom since I was 5 years old.

To date, we have helped released over 800+.Monarch butterflies in our South Florida community. Our project will be focusing in the loss of habitat “milkweed plants”, and help on these efforts through the creation of at least 12 Monarch Waystations in our South Florida-Miami Dade County schools. Monarch butterflies are places that provide resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration journey.

This is one of many butterflies that I was delighted to find at KU's Native Medicinal Plant Garden. I think I have the identification of this one correct. This garden is also a Monarch Waystation, so I can hardly wait for another month or so when the Monarch Migration is on.
