The dome is inspired by muqarnas, a decorative element of Islamic architecture. At the top point of this fabulous dome there is a skylight. In the center of the circle you can see 6 wāw letters.

I have a little story for you....
When I was 15 I worked in a little hippie type shop on a saturday. The people I worked for were lovely even if they were slightly odd :D On the shop window was painted a huge tree. It was lovely. One day thieves decided to smash the window to grab the contents. The owner was so upset but decided that she would dress, HEAD TO TOE, in bright pink to show the world she was not going to be put down by these people. She even had a bright pink felt beret on and pink shoes (apparently so were her knickers and bra!) So when I see this colour I think of her and her determination to be positive in the face of adversity :D

Grianan of Aileach Ring Fort, Burt, Inishowen, County Donegal, Ireland
Each winter I wait in anticipation for snow to arrive on our lands. This past 2 winters the snow has been extremely light, only lasting a few days out of the entire year. As soon as the white stuff starts falling, I waste no time & rush to all my favourite historical monuments to capture them all dressed in white snow. ‘An Grianan of Aileach’ is always a favourite target on my snow radar 😂. Snow can transform any scene to look almost completely different than it would during summer, night or a colourful sunset etc ❄️
First constructed around 1700 BC (probably with earthen walls) by the Tuatha de Danann. An Grianan Fort was once a seat of power were the ‘O'Neill Kings’ reigned from for over 700 years. An Grianan Of Aileach is the best known monument in Inishowen & easily one of the greatest in all Ireland. Situated along Donegal's coast on a hilltop 800 feet above sea level the view from Aileach is breathtakingly beautiful. Legend states that the giants of Inishowen (Princes of Aileach) are lying sleeping under this hill but when a hidden sacred sword is removed from this ring fort, they will return back to life reclaiming their ancient lands ☘️

Yippee, it's Halloween time again!! For the next 3 Wednesday's leading up to Halloween we will be having various Halloween-themed challenges. This one will be the most "general" anything goes theme....HALLOWEEN! (Very general...anything at all to do with Halloween, from getting the house ready, looking for a costume, decorating, making things, your imagination can go wild!)

Erin is my very first Blythe, given to me by a close friend for Christmas 2006. On my birthday in January 2007 she also sent this cute outfit. She had a purpose when she sent her to me and it worked, I turned into a Blythe Collector. : )

Rosenbauer Wasserwerfer
Der Wasserwerfer 10000 ist auf dem Mercedes-Benz Actros-Allradfahrgestell aufgebaut. Es ist 3,7 m hoch, 9,9 m lang und 2,55 m breit. Der Antrieb leistet 300 kW (ca. 408 PS). Das zulässige Gesamtgewicht liegt bei 31 t.
Der WaWe 10 ist mit einem beheizbaren 10.000-Liter-Tank ausgestattet und besitzt drei Werferrohre, zwei vorne mit einem Durchsatz von bis zu 1200 l/min und einer Wurfweite von 65 Metern mit 20 bar Druck sowie eines hinten mit bis zu 900 l/min und einer Wurfweite von 50 Metern.
Die Pumpanlage für die Werfer wird durch einen eigenen Motor angetrieben (Deutz TCD 2012L06), damit wie beim Vorgängermodell auch von jedem Fahrzustand unabhängig Wasser verschossen werden kann.
