The leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the five species in the genus Panthera, a member of the Felidae. The leopard occurs in a wide range in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia and is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because leopard populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation and are declining in large parts of the globe.

Leopards are hunted illegally, and their body parts are smuggled in the wildlife trade for medicinal practices and decoration.

Compared to other wild cats, the leopard has relatively short legs and a long body with a large skull. It is similar in appearance to the jaguar, but generally has a smaller, lighter physique. Its fur is marked with rosettes similar to those of the jaguar, but the leopard's rosettes are smaller and more densely packed., and do not usually have central spots as the jaguar's do. Both leopards and jaguars that are melanistic are known as black panthers.

The leopard is distinguished by its well-camouflaged fur, opportunistic hunting behaviour, broad diet, and strength (which it uses to move heavy carcasses into trees), as well as its ability to adapt to various habitats ranging from rainforest to steppe, including arid and montane areas, and its ability to run at speeds of up to 58 kilometres per hour (36 mph).- Source Wikipedia

These three bears, once masters of this icy environment, no longer recognize their territory. The shrinking sea ice has reduced their opportunities to hunt seals, their main food source. These changes are forcing them to adopt new survival strategies, such as resting more to conserve energy. However, even these efforts are not enough to compensate for the daily caloric loss they suffer.

In the face of these challenges, the bears seem to symbolize a silent but powerful call for the protection of their habitat. Their daily struggle draws attention to the devastating effects of climate change not only on biodiversity but also on humanity itself. Scientists and environmental organizations use the iconic image of polar bears to raise awareness and encourage concrete action against global warming.

In this way, these three polar bears are reluctant activists for a greater cause. Their struggle to survive in a rapidly changing world is a poignant reminder of the urgent need to act to preserve our planet and its vulnerable inhabitants.

Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.

It wasn’t an actual date.

We didn’t know each other that well by then.

But we were curious…

There is a harm that can come to you

A potential damage when you interact with others

When you let yourself get too vulnerable

We wanted to avoid that

Unsure of whether to let each other in.

The world can also turn into chaos in a moment.

The vast entropy turns you into something else

The entity you were changes and transforms

You don’t even look like yourself in the mirror.

Are you a human……?

Or are you just a cloud drifting your way out of existence…?

She knows that being vulnerable is not a weakness,

but a language the heart uses when it gets rid of its masks

and dares, at last, to be itself.

She knows that it is in the most extreme fragility

that echoes the greatest proof of courage:

the courage to reach out to oneself.

Because it takes a certain wisdom of the heart to understand

that sometimes, it is at the very moment when everything seems about to break

that everything can be rebuilt.

It is the silent rebirth of those who have cried enough to know

that cracks are not always flaws,

and that scars are never anything but an opportunity for light to shine through.

Horned Grebe has a Conservation Status under the IUCN of Vulnerable www.iucnredlist.org/species/22696606/132066871

A windy day leads to a comical view of a Horned Grebe, whose head feathers have become dishevelled due to the breeze. This individual was observed at Elliston Lake in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

White Pelicans in the frigid water of Cherry Creek Reservoir. With one wing frozen in place and beaks freezing shut, all I could do was leave a message in hopes that it was listened to and that a park ranger would help. I stayed for an hour and walked out to where they were on shore but it only sent them into the water. It was a cold 17 degrees with no sign of warming up soon.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day! :)

A chunky and gregarious resident of wet upland forests; often found in flocks of up to 15 birds. Its green body, bluish head, and orange-red spot on upper chest readily separates this species from the Imperial Parrot, the only other parrot sharing its range, as well as parrot species commonly kept in captivity. The largely blue underwing, often seen in flight, is also distinctive. Calls include a shrill “chur-lu-weeek” with the final note louder and higher pitched, plus a shrill, almost trilled, “cureeek.”

There are quite a few colourful kingfishers in Thailand, and Black-capped Kingfisher is particularly eye-catching including for that large red bill. The species is ranked as Vulnerable by the IUCN, mainly due to population declines. This individual was seen at a boardwalk that went some distance along a channel we travelled on by boat. The location was near Laem Phak Bia in Phetchaburi province.
