Westbound R379 heading into Washington, IN, for a crew change.
I remember chasing the "rare" CSX SD60s quite extensively, but this one was a surprise.
Some expired films are almost indistinguishable from fresh, but this one most definitely isn't that film, it degraded pretty badly. Nonetheless, I quite like the colour palette, grain and sharp details. October 2017.
Taken with Pentax MZ-S camera and smc Pentax-FA 50mm F1.4 lens on expired Kodak Elite Chrome 400 slide film. 50mm, maxed-out shutter at 1/6000, ƒ/2, ISO 400.

Happy Birthday, Rachael. I'm not sure what's going on here. It looks like some sort of toddler martial arts kata. Shot on Ilford XP2 400 in April 1992.
It was the worst of times. And in between, it was also – just to be clear – the worst of times all over again. Farewell 2020. No need to write. Don’t, as they say, let the door hit your arse on the way out.
And talking of arses (honest, nothing to do with Boris Johnson), apparently, the latest fashion in the men's underwear department, as this risqué Glasgow Merchant City sex retailer Luke & Jack is modelling, could be described as being 'brief encounters'.

The last roll of film in my Nikon F801 - after these frames, the camera went to a new home. I took an opportunity to test out a DX lens, and although autofocus doesn't work, and it is usable only in Program and shutter-priority modes, it is a nice, wide and fast lens, with not much vignetting, despite the fact it is designed for smaller APS-C sensors.
So, boring rooftop of one of the tallest buildings in Zagreb, dark, tinted glass, dusk sky, and two people smoking. Mid-January 2016.

Times before The Plague* were much simpler times, you just got out, never ever gave a second thought about the crowd, never knew there are so many selfish people all over the world. Basically, we all got nothing at stake, just like my father's vineyard had that Saturday in February 2020.

That square building behind the row of trees is The Dice, a 10-story government building originally built to house the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Croatia in 1968. With 10 stories, it is tall enough to have a nice overlook over the levee area.

Nice daylight is a still not-so-abundant commodity in early February, and at that time, I got just what I asked for - I got lazy, only to realize I'll run out of light, and went out to take a few photos in the last moment. Also, that lens got some serious issues, it looks like it has/had water damage on glass elements, but otherwise, it works just fine.

For historical fantasy fans, the idyllic little Fife hamlet of Falkland, not far from Dunfermline, is instantly recognisable as the opening location for the epic drama Outlander (www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFFKjptRr7Y), where Frank and Claire Randall head to in 1940 on what proves to be their fateful second honeymoon and where their lives are completely turned upside down.
In the series, it represent Inverness from the 1740s, 1940s and the 1960s. The attraction of the little town as the location for the filming is clear to see, as its full of genuine little touches all around that stretches back even further than the eighteenth century where Claire - almost Brigadoon-like - is first transported back in time to.
One such is the quaint east of Scotland tradition of "wedding lintels" (also known as nuptial, marriage or lintel stone), a carved inscription above the doorway of a house owned by newly-married couples that primarily date from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century.
They would show the initials of the newly-weds sandwiched in-between the year of their nuptials. The one pictured from my recent day trip to a very sunny and warm Falkland is from 1686 and commemorates the marriage of "GB" and "MH".
Many of the original buildings have been rebuilt over the centuries, but the tradition has always been to re-incorporate the original marriage lintel in the new structure for good luck, invariable over the new front door entrance, or here, perhaps where the original door was once located.

If you want to go panoramic on film really on a budget, you can always grab one of those cameras from the late 1990s that have light baffles just in front of a film that crops standard photos to fake panoramic. While it is fully faked, with a proper wide-angle lens, the resulting photos can look not that bad!
Here, I did just that - I acquired Pentax MZ-5, one of those cameras with fake panoramic baffles. The good part is it crops even the viewfinder, the bad part is it's just a crop, you'd need a seriously wide-angle lens for a good effect - 19mm here helped.

There was a time when my office was situated on the outskirts of the city, but not as far as the pseudo-industrial part of the outskirts, so we got more than a few office buildings, a hotel and a tennis court nearby. Sounds posh, but it's nothing to actually write home about - everything is just a nondescript, minimalist, straight-lines-are-the-cheapest-to-build building.

Developed in Fomadon R09, 1+100 for 120+ minutes, with continuous agitation for the first minute, and a few inversions at first two half-hour marks.
Recently, I've been developing black & white film I have in the queue, and I dropped a ball with this one - I got sloppy, left it in the developer for more than full two hours, and concluded a few more agitations will be needed. Apparently, there was too much agitation now, the grain is overwhelming. Then I got sloppy while fixing the film, too, I forgot a few inversions, and apparently, my fixer was near the end of its life and I failed to realize that. I even got impatient, didn't wash the film enough with demineralized water, so I have drying stains all over the emulsion. A few days later, I realized my film is still partially purple, meaning it wasn't fixed enough, so off it went into another 10 minutes of fixing in the exhausted fixer. That solved purple tint issue and most of drying stains, but it took me some time and a few not really gentle attempts to load the film on the reels. So, this poor film took quite a lot of beating and scratching, but that's not all of it - just wait for the other one I developed with this one, that one took even more punishment.
Snowy sunny days are great for brisk photo walks, or your nose will grow icicles. I did just that - had a quick and energetic walk to the neighbouring lake. February 2018.
