Sun Voyager (Icelandic: Sólfar) is sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason (1931 - 1989). Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun. Intrinsically, it contains within itself the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom. The sculpture is located by Sæbraut, by the sea in the centre of Reykjavík, Iceland.

The 21st century had to come in order for people to suddenly realise that they were hovering above a frightening gap in the global public sphere and that their institutions were completely obsolete. So, gradually, the once dominant states began to bestow - deliberately or not - part of their previously almighty powers, especially in the fields of foreign policy, international relations and arms, to a central, federal political organisation. They kept their historical memories, traditions and customs, language, legends and their domestic institutions, but they had now realised that in a future war there would be no winners and losers. They would either stick together, or all together they’d lose. They began to see who the true enemy was: the lack of strong and effective global institutions with the preventive mission to control all forms of conflict. They finally realised that what united people - their common biological fate and their shared responsibility for the maintenance of culture - was more important than what separated them.

I have been preparing the last few days for my graduation and my next travels. I will graduate next month with my Bachelor's in Fine Arts - Digital Photography. It's been a busy 5 months, but it's a good busy. This has been by far a great year in chasing a passion.

On the 2nd November 1983, the first minivan rolled off Chrysler's assembly line. The 1984 Plymouth Voyager was born

In Europe the first generation of the Chrysler Voyager was sold from 1987 until 1991. Over here the model had the front from Dodge and the name from Plymouth name. This one has a 3.0 litre V6 engine from Mitsubishi delivering up to 140 PS.

The gleaming steel sculpture on Reykjavík‘s splendid waterfront that resembles a Viking long-ship is the ‘Sólfarið’ or ‘The Sun Voyager.’ The artist Jón Gunnar Arnason created the striking landmark.

A Class 221 Voyager comes through Kenton in it's new Avanti West Coast livery. An ex Virgin liveried 221 is at the rear. Apparently Avanti have a low opinion of the Voyagers (as do a lot of people) and despite replacing them in 2022 they are keeping them long enough it seems to re-livery them. All the interiors have been completely refurbished.
