I climbed to the summit of the hill in Sedona where there is a strong Vortex. As you can see, mostly all of Sedona can be viewed from here.

Looks like the Montana Vortex really pulls everything off balance.

consists of a large water vortex, a life-size version of the little “tornado funnel”. The vortex is created by pumping water out of the bottom of the cylinder & injecting it back into the top which sets the water spinning. The funnel shape occurs because the water pressure is greater at lower water depths causing a closing-in of the wall of the vortex. The vortex demonstrates a form that manifests in a number of places such as whirlpools, tornadoes, weather systems, galaxies, & snail shells.

As part of VORTEX-Southeast, CIMMS Researcher Kim Klockow-McClain visited Alabama and Georgia months after a devastating tornado killed 23 people and injured numerous others in 2019.
She is researching why that storm system was so deadly. She is a societal impacts and behavioral insights researcher whose work supports NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory.

Horse shoe vortex cloud released as the vortex that formed it collapses on the left. I saw the vortex intact and bent up wards along the path of the gray cloud fragments shown, but was too slow to get the camera functioning and photograph it. I could draw it. The horseshoe which is fossil cloud and does not rotate rises and disappears over a full minute. The first three frames span ten seconds. The horse shoe cloud was lost from sight as it passed in front of the cloud behind and reappeared diminished half a minute later. The final image shows the cloud in its final state one minute after the first frame.
Oh dear.
This is the ex-Vortex Jazz Club on Stoke Newington Church Street, which was briefly occupied by slightly dodgy squatters who nevertheless kept the building as a community centre (and occasional rave venue), before it was illegally demolished by the developer. A campaign formed around preventing it becoming a Starbucks, but now it appears it will be a Nandos instead. Little better.
Although the license is still up for appeal, permission has already been granted for signage and so on (see this blog post), so it looks like a battle lost before local residents knew anything about it.
