Oh dear.

This is the ex-Vortex Jazz Club on Stoke Newington Church Street, which was briefly occupied by slightly dodgy squatters who nevertheless kept the building as a community centre (and occasional rave venue), before it was illegally demolished by the developer. A campaign formed around preventing it becoming a Starbucks, but now it appears it will be a Nandos instead. Little better.

Although the license is still up for appeal, permission has already been granted for signage and so on (see this blog post), so it looks like a battle lost before local residents knew anything about it.
