Unfortunately, a lot of the Filipino culture has been lost to time, as Spanish missionaries came and converted the Indigenous people starting in the 16th century. The only major folk story I could find was recorded by a researcher in the beginning of the 1920’s.

Si nadie comprase un ave en las calles, estas salvajadas no ocurriesen en nuestro país.Hace un tiempo escribimos mucho sobre la comercializacion de las especies en "crónicas de los minutos que ya pasaron", con el titulo "MERCADOTECNIA POR LA PISTA"

Por lo tanto, el como diferenciar un Perico endémico de una Cotorra endémica no es para no se dejen engañar, si no algo estrictamente educativo sobre ambas especies endémicas.
Aún esta especie sigue siendo objeto de maltrato fisico para engañar a lo transeúntes que se desplazan por la autopista entre la Vega y Santiago de los Caballeros.
Hace un par de años la víctima del engaño ha sido una hermana mía la cual quería una "cuca" para que aprendiera hablar.Está bueno que le pase jajajajaja
Estos muchachos se roban los pichones de Pericos y luego les arrancan las plumas de la cola vivos, los mojan continuamente,le untan vaselina y los maltratan para hacerlos aparentar como pichones de cotorras y asi venderlos por un par de miles de pesos.
SI NADIE COMPRARA NINGUN TIPO DE AVES ESTAS COSAS NO PASARAN. DENUNCIEN EL COMERCIO ILEGAL DE NUESTRAS ESPECIES.
COMO DIFERENCIAR UN PERICO DE UNA COTORRA. Aratinga Chloroptera "Perico"(ave de la foto) Vs Amazona Ventralis"Cotorra" ave mostrada como comentario!!!
1-El perico mide unos 30-33 Cm de longitud y pesa unos 145 Gr.
2-Un perico adulto, es de color verde en su totalidad, con una cola larga y puntiaguda (por eso se las arrancan para venderlos como cotorra).
3-Tienen un anillo ocular blanco
4-Tienen un borde rojo a lo largo de la curva del ala.
5-Durante el vuelo,puede notarse que la parte interna del ala son tambien rojas.
6-La cotorra es mas grande y robusta, y posee una cola mas corta y cuadrada.
7-El perico tiene algunas plumas rojas en el pecho.
8-La cotorra esta adornada con muchos colores.
9-La cotorra grazna, el perico chilla.
10-La cola de la cotorra es corta y cuadrada.
11-En el vuelo, la cotorra no va en linea recta.
12-El perico vuela rapido y directo sin tanto movimiento de las alas.
13-El perico Chilla mucho cuando esta volando.
14-La cotorra es un poco mas corta que el perico
15-Los pericos andan en bandadas mas grandes que las cotorras.
16-Los pericos son mas guapos que las cotorras.
17-Los pericos no son tan inteligentes como las cotorras y aprenden muy poco.
18-Ambos son residentes reproductores, endemicos y amenazados
19- La frente de la cotorra es blanca, punto auricular negro y abdomen marron.
20-Las cotorras en vuelo, muestran remeras primarias y secundarias de un color azul brillante.

Imagine a world before the Internet, where there was hardly any form of communication amongst the crossdressing/transvestite community. All was not completely lost however. One single light in the UK during the 1980's and 90's was Swish Publications's "World of Transvestism" (or WOTV as it became abbreviated). A successor to the much earlier "Tranz" magazine, WOTV was published monthly, inside was an "Aladin's Cave" of letters, photos (black and white), occasionally stories and illustrations. The publishing quality was quite poor and WOTV was not cheap (I think it was £6 when I first started to acquire my own personal copies).The cover usually graced some of the more photogenic girls, many of whom I am pleased to say are on Flickr. In view of their privacy I shall not post those, but I would like to share this cover showing an example of the sorts of illustrations that were often printed.
Stockists were few in fact in my area there was only one newsagent that stocked maybe one or two copies a month, but one could travel to Swish's main store in Greek Street London, to purchase missing copies or "bargain bundles".
Sadly I now longer have the magazines, but I did scan all the covers and most of the images of some of the girls from those magazines.
